Acer aspire 6920g gaming laptop randomly downclocking?
When i play games on my laptop far cry 2, borderlands, crysis etc they run smooth like at 45 FPS for about 10 minutes then the game will run really slow like about 15 FPS. This is really starting to annoy me as this is my only computer and i feel like i have tried everything. virus checks, optimization programs, game booster, blowing the dust out of the vents everything but nothing works.here is my specsIntel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz processor 2GB ramNvidia 9500m gs2 140 GB hard drivesBlu ray disc driveAny help with this is appreciated as this is my only computer and i havent finished most of my games
How can I connect usb keyboard to laptop?
I have a separate keyboard that I need to connect to my laptop. I have the right USB adaptor for this purpose and the keyboard worked fine the last time I connected it. However this is not the case now. When I connect the USB connector the keyboard lights come up but then it just does not react to anything. Are there any settings or other clever things I can check?thanks everyone

I am going to buy a laptop pretty soon, and i have a few questions about it?
k i am either getting a dell laptop or a apple laptop. if it is a dell laptop probably the inspiron. and if it is the apple probably the macbook pro, 15 inch. k i have a few questions about the apple macbook. here is my first question. would you be able to put a bigger harddrive in the laptop by urself without taking it into a apple store or sending it to them to do it, i know you have to do that with the battery so i was just wondering if you have to do that with a harddrive, and also i was wondering the same thing about a graphics card, would i be able to change the graphics card in the laptop for a new one. here is my second question, when i went a looked at the laptops on apple, i have noticed the processor that is in them is the intel core 2 duo in them, but intel has new processors out the new 2010 i3 i5 and i7 processors. so i was wondering if get the laptop would it matter if i have the core 2 duo in it or would it be better if i switch it to the new intels. wat i am asking is that is the new intels out better or the same as the core 2 duo. my next question is why do some of the laptops have 2 graphics cards in them?. my next question is the battery on the macbooks good, do they last pretty good or do they suck?obviously this is my first laptop so i asked a lot of questions, i am researching and trying to find out which laptop i should get. i no if i get the macbook it is going to cost way more than a dell laptop, but i really dont care on the price. i am not rich, i work at mcdonalds ha, but i can just save up for the laptop. so please answer my questions, and may u do the pros and cons of the laptops, so i will know more. 'Sandbox' ! Is it possible to create a secure area on my Vista laptop to test run suspicious programs?
I've downloaded a free and legal program from the net but don't want to run it, in case it has a virus or any other nasties.I know I can check it with a virus checker but I prefer a more robust solution.Is there a way to create a secure, isolated separate area on my Vista laptop to run the program that I am suspicious of...so that if it DOES have problems it doesn't affect my laptop ?I don't think a 'virtual machine' is the solution as my brief research tells me that virtual machines are not meant for this purpose. if I'm wrong, please suggest a free one I think the correct name for what I want is a " sandbox" but I'm not sure.Can't you recommend a program that will help me create a 'sandbox' for free? Please i don't just want a virus checker...i know how to get that already Thanks

Best brand of laptop for a college student?
I take online college courses University of Phoenix , but beside that I do a lot of photo editing, and more recently video editing. I would prefer something with a good amount of memory for all my pictures and videos and such. I don't do gaming so graphics arent a huge issue. I always want it to have CD DVD drive and burning capabilities. Which would fit me best? I'd like an exact brand and model name and all that. Also, I have a price limit of no more than $600 before tax of course so no Macs though I'd love one Thanks
Which Backpack is probably the best for laptops?
Here is the deal, I had a Swiss Gear backpack for a laptop. I bought it about three years ago from Best Buy. The Shoulder strap is just hanging on an the zipper for the laptop screwed up so I cant use it anymore. Best Buy still sells that particular one for like $79, and all other Laptop backpacks I dont like. So Im looking at a regular backpack. I think the biggest problem was the weight on my old one. This time if Im carrying my laptop I will hold my heaviest books in my hands. Help how do i charge my mini laptop help!!?
so i never owned a laptop beforeso i have no idea how these things work so ive been using my laptop all day and i checked the lilttle icon of the battry usgae i think thats wht it is and it says 25 % remaing so does that mean i have to charge it..and how do i do it..do i use that cord that came with it and plug it in and wait til its fully to 100 %..am i correct..and can i use the laptop while i have it plugged in...please let me know..thank...i have the hp mini 110 i belive..oh and hw long does it take to fully charge..let me knwo..the battery says it lithuim..idk what that isim not blonde lol i just want to make sure im doing it the right way
Laptop can not go online via I.E....?
In the past there was an issue w my laptop and I was unable to go online via I.E. When that happened I was walked thru how to download Firefox and luckily I still have it installed. I still receive my emails via Outlook Express... but nothing I've tried from anyone I've asked just short of taking it to someone like " the Geek Squad" to try fixing it has worked so far and I can't remember what I did the last time to get it working again. SO, now that I CAN access Firefox and Outlook... what do I need to do to get my I.E. working again? I am almost certain the last time when I was being walked thru the process to repair the connection for I.E. that I removed deleted the I.E. program and reinstalled it... I'M NOT POSITIVE.... either way I'm beyond frustrated and just shy of selling a kidney to resolve it Thanks for your help, 1st person to help fix the problem obviously gets B.A.
Sony Vaio Z Series Laptop - Keyboard Protector/Skin. English model (big enter key)?
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a keyboard protector for a Sony Vaio Z series laptop? I have the English version which has a larger enter key than the US equivalent.I can't find it anywhere and would be very grateful for any useful pointers
