My internet comcast has been set to be canceled today because I'm leaving in a day or two for vacation. Is there a way to get internet at home for a few hours on my laptop? I would veg off a neighbors but they usually have passwords. And I don't feel like going to a public place.

the internet on my laptop was working fine up until a little while ago. Now the wireless connection on my laptop says it's only connected locally. It's done this a few times before, but all I would have to do was unplug the router, plug it back in then my internet would work again. I tried that this time, still not working. I restarted my computer, still not working.I really don't know much about computers and wireless connections, so I don't know what else to do. Any help?

Confused on what will work for me - will a tablet work as well as a laptop for my purposes?
Hi I will be away for months this summer for business purposes, and I will be staying in a lodge with free wifi. I do not own a laptop, and I think it's a bit of a waste of money to buy something when I am only going to use it for a few months...I was thinking of buying a tablet since they are a little less expensive than a laptop. This is what I will need The vast majority of the time I will be using the tablet for internet. I want to be able to use facebook, youtube, and twitter I want to be able to upload pictures to facebook, upload pictures from my camera onto the tablet right now my camera is a fujifilm and uses and " XD" card it's not a mini SD card or a regular SD card I usually use a USB cable to transfer pics to my current PC , upload videos, possibly use skype webchat, hopefully a microphone jack I'm a musician would like to use it to record , a headphone jack, hopefully USB port, use it for email outlook express and yahoo mail , and be able to work on my website web hosting, analytics, etc. , and listen to music itunes .I'm sure any tablet are facebook, youtube, and twitter friendly. I'm mostly concerned with uploading pictures and using a program to edit them like picasa3 . I also never used something without a keyboard and mouse, so if I can buy a wireless keyboard mouse that will work that will be good. I would also like to watch movies, though I don't think any tablets support dvds or cds right now at least using something like hulu will work for now.Is it a bad idea to buy a tablet to use for internet purposes for a few months? I do not have a smart phone, and I want to be able to share pictures videos all summer. I would rather not spend more than $250, so I think a laptop is out of the question and so is the ipad .My question really is which tablet will work for my purposes I'm thinking a Galaxy..but I do not know much about them besides trying to figure them out at a store . Also, do we have to pay for apps, or do we just go to the " app store" and pick out the ones we want? I know they have apps for youtube, twitter, etc. but do we really need to install them when we can just use the wifi to go to the actual website?Thanks for the help.

My desktop has a sapphire radeon 6670 ddr3, an amd athlon II 455, and 4gb ddr3 ram and it runs minecraft at 75 fps sometimes 80.My laptop has a nvidia 9700m gts, a intel core 2 duo and 4gb ddr3 ram.And I get the same fps... Except my laptop fps turns to 100 when I put minecraft on high priority and my desktop fps stays the same when on high priority

Laptop not opening cd?
Brand new Dell inspiron laptop bought today from Best Buy.Took it home and have been installing a few things by CD...worked fine.When I put in another installation cd it doesnt even come up...I clicked on the cd drive and it says there is nothing in there. I have tried everything. Everything else installed perfectly.I use to own a Dell inspirion desktop and it installed this particular cd perfectly. Soo I'm not sure what's going on cause there is def a damn cd in there. Help?
My Acer Laptop (Windows Vista) not reading Adobe CS5?
I have an acer laptop, and I had same problem occurring over a year ago with Adobe CS3. Both Adobe CS3 & 5 at first I was able to install and all programs ran fine. Then I had issues not being able to start Adobe Dream Weaver on both. I uninstall Adobe Dream Weaver on both CS3 and CS5 and now my CD DVD Drive will not read them. However they can read other CDs. It is saying nothing is in the Drive once I put the adobe CS5 disk in it. I used the Windows Dr. Fix it program but it didn't fix anything. I also tried to uninstall from Device Manager and System Reboot but none of that worked neither. I am stuck, please help
