It is still going. They have not managed to reach the goal yet, but they hope to in the next couple of years with reduced production costs. The main purpose behind the $100 laptop was retained by the charitable organization "One Laptop per Child ". They are doing great work already. The current price stands at about $180 i believe laptop.org/ en/

Hmm i never heard of that before... unless its the one for the african children and stuff. but there are gonna be some pretty cheap laptops for about 100$ with the Nvidia Tegra Processor but idk when its gonna come out

It's still alive and kicking. Actually, you can thank them for today's netbook craze. That's where the idea came from. Someone saw those and realized that if cheap mini laptops worked overseas, they would work elsewhere as well. It was a good idea.
