Can someone help me out with Asus laptop warranty info?
My dad bought me an asus k61ic x3 notebook on January 1, 2010 for me at CompUSA so I'd have one to use at school. A month or two ago, someone got water all over the keyboard, and it hasn't really worked since. I've also had trouble with the blu ray player, but that's been since day one. I never got the computer registered. Would I be able to send it in to them to get it repaired, or get a new one? Do I need the original receipt or a copy? What would be the process to do this, since I really haven't an idea, and can I even do it? If possible, what would I need to send? I really need to do this since I can't afford to get it fixed or get a new one. Thanks in advance.
Asus Laptop Warranty?
My screen on my Asus Laptop has two small bright spots that are not that annoying, but i assume these are dead pixels and it could spread. My laptop is about 10 months old and the model is a UL50VT. That being said is it worth it to have the screen replaced. I bought it from bestbuy would they fix it or would i have to call Asus support. Also would this fix be free, I have not done anything to void the warranty. Thanks
Asus Laptop Warranty/ Customer Service, Does it cover cracked LCD's?
I bought my Asus U50A laptop at Bestbuy last November 09 and my screen today was just mysteriously cracked on the right side. It's black in the spot where the cracked occurred. I've treated my laptop extremely well since I've gotten it and this crack really makes me wonder, I know I didn't hit anything since I used it last night and transporting it from school to home I know I didn't drop it or anything. Either way, I called Bestbuy about it and they told me if I didn't buy one of the extended warranties with them when I first bought the laptop they couldn't do anything about it. A Geek Squad member told me it would cost around 300 to 500 dollars to replace the screen, the laptop cost me 700, and it it still pretty up to date specification wise. I check the Asus website today, and it is nearly impossible to find any contact information regarding cracked LCD's. My general question is, does anyone know how Asus deals with customer service in situations like these? And do you guys know if they would cover this under the still imposed one year warranty that came with my computer? Thanks in advance
