Question: Ok so i got the windows 7 free upgrade for my asus laptop?

Can i install it onto another computer and can it be upgraded without deleting files from my hp that's running vista currently so the drivers from the asus windows 7 upgrade wont work on my hp that has vista?

You might be able to use it on another computer. Also when upgrading from Vista, you wont lose ur files

Yes this morning I got Windows 7 and I changed from Vista to 7. It was like 30 minutes. I kept all files in External HD. Make Custom install, so that Vista old stuffs don't bother u gain n gain..

You can not use the upgrade operating system on another computer as it is registered for the Asus lap top and the drivers will not work on a different computer and it also would be an illegal copy. If it is the upgrade it should install and leave all your files but always back up any thing of importance when making major system changes.

Hi Mason, It's not just the drivers that won't work. That upgrade disc is designed only to upgrade an Asus computer to Windows 7. If you do want to upgrade your HP computer to Windows 7 eventually, I suggest you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor first: windows.microsoft.com/ upgradeadvisor Cheers, Walker Windows Outreach Team
