Are all stock asus laptops the same?

Question: Are all stock asus laptops the same?

(Posted by: on 2010-08-24 01:36:26)

I ordered an Asus G73JH- A1 gaming laptop from a website called Adorama. On their description, it said the hard drive speed was 5400 rpm but on every other website, it says the A1 model comes with 2x 7200 rpm hard drives. Could this be an error on the site, or are there different specs of the same model? http:/ / www.adorama.com/ ASG73JHA1.html

No. Usually you have a choice to specify what you want. I know with Acer specifically you can specify the amount of RAM, size of HDD, GFX card etc. It all depends where you are buying from. Some companies buys a certain amount of laptops at a certain spec. So what Company X sells and what Company Z sells might be the same brand and model but completely different specs. Go browse Acer's website, you'll see what i mean :)

The drives can be configured to your specifications. Personally If I was going to chunk down that kind of change for a laptop I'd be looking at one that's upgradeable. Check out mxm-upgrade.com to see what I mean.
