Question: Why would a brand new asus laptop lag so much?

I just bought an Asus laptop. I payed $1300 and it has i7 processor, 500 GB, 6 GB of RAM, and it was fine for the very few times I played Sims 2, Sims 3 and even GTA 5 on it, but then I installed Kaspensky ant- virus and unless I updated it, it lagged. The next time, it would lag even after an update, so I thought that the anti- virus was the problem and deleted it, and it still lags. I can play Sims for about an hour before it starts lagging. When I watch videos, it becomes unresponsive. What the hell is wrong with it? It makes me miss my 5 year- old Alienware that recovered from a trojan. Should I send it in or is there a way to fix it? And by the way, the lagging started before I had internet on it, so it's not a virus. |
