What are the best laptops for college?
Hi everyone, I'm going to be a freshman in college and I'm interested in either buying a laptop from HP or Apple. So I'm wondering which one is better? I have an HP laptop now that I share with my sister that we bought in May but since I'm going to college I obviously need my own laptop, so should I buy the same one that I have now or a Macbook Pro? My dad wants me to look at some with him, but the problem is, I don't know where to start There are so many out there from Macs to PCs to everything that fits all varieties of needs. i need a new laptop. i bought a basic dell about 3 years ago and its just not cutting it anymore. its slow and freezes all the time causing me to restart it.so, i start college in the fall. i'm going for vet medicine so nothing tech ey. i need a fairly basic computer. fast. wireless internet. don't care about screen size. needs microsoft word and stuff at least compatible doesn't need to be installed. doesn't really need games as long as i have solitare lol. umm i watch a lot of videos but don't really need anything special for that..so what would be the best? i don't have an exact budget in mind but i dont really want to spend toooo much. so best value for my money? thanks

I currently have a Toshiba Satellite and I've very happy with how everything works, but I need an upgrade since its a bit old. I'm lookin for good memory, good battery, and light. Ok...I've managed to earn $550. I'm a college student and I want to buy a decent laptop that will last a while. So, can you guys please recommend me good laptops so that when I get to the electronic stores at 3am on Black Friday I won't have to take my time?? Don't say Apple or Dell please. If you could give me specific laptop model names, that'd be great Please make sure that it's within my $550 budget.
