Choosing A Laptop Homepage

Question: Best laptop for college student?

I'm going to transfer to a different university next year and I want to get a new laptop. I want a laptop that's efficient, reasonably quick, and has decent memory. Basically a good laptop for a college student's needs. I dont want it to be over $1000 and i would prefer it to not even go past $800. Any suggestions?

Buy whatever you can afford, mostly based on price, but do avoid Acer and gateway. ANY laptop on the market will run MS office or Open office easily for 5+ years. Therefore get something cheap, and probably medium sized (easy to use keyboard and easy to read screen)
