What are the best laptops out there?

Question: What are the best laptops out there?

(Posted by: Ciao Bella is Love Drunk on 2010-03-10 10:36:24)

Im having alot of trouble trying to figure out what laptop i need to get. i am a college student and my main reason behind getting a laptop is 1st for school to be able to write papers on, use internet, send email, etc. then after that it would be for my personal use as well. the main thing is i want storage and speed for a good price. i really cant aford anything over 500- 600. ive never had a laptop before so im clueless when it comes to knowing which one is best and what certain numbers mean like rpm or cache or GHz, etc. can you help me out? what is the best laptop out there now for me?

You Should Defiantly get An Hp. The link below is a list of laptops under $600 Good luck!

I've had these two over the course of like 4 years and they both still work (although the first one overheated in two and the second one is in excellent condition.) newegg.com/ Product/ Product.aspx?Item= N82E16834107045 You should look for RAM (DDR2 or DDR3) and an Intel processor. Never buy laptops with AMD processors, trust me they are inferior. The one link I gave you is a good example of a computer that has a fair price, a good operating system, and two processors instead of one. It also comes with 3GB memory OR ram. And the harddrive is decent sized too so you should be able to pack quite some programs into it. My 2nd laptop: tigerdirect.com/ applications/ searchtools/ item-details.asp?EdpNo= 5311061 &csid= ITD &recordsPerPage= 10 &body= REVIEWS#tabs Fairly mainstream and for the price its good. This one has even more RAM and a similar processor and comes with Windows 7 64-bit so you should be able to upgrade the RAM and make it even more faster. Anyways these are just examples But they are between 400-500 dollars so you could be saving even more by investing in one of these two.

Hi there :] I currently use a Macbook, and students can get discount on them i think so you could try that, Macbooks are great for typing up essays and surfing the web at a finger snap speed, which could be helpful. Other laptops that are good, you could try a Dell, have a computer of Dell and its survived a long time with no problems and im sure the laptop version will give that standard. But if you can get it, go for Mac's (:

The best windows laptops are probably 'Alienware' (google it) but your budget limits you in what you can afford With that budget I would go for a Core 2 Duo processor of at least 2.2 Ghz, 3 or 4 Gb of memory, and a hard drive of at least 250 Gb The make isn't hugely important. What is important is to make sure it has at least 12 months warranty and consider increasing that to 2 years warranty. Buy fairly localy and don't bother with the internet -- how are you going to take it back if it goes wrong after buying through the internet?? By the way -- there is nothing wrong with AMD processors. I have had laptops with them and they are fine. A final tip -- DON'T put the laptop down flat on a bed or any soft surface -- it will overheat and burn outh CPU or the GPU. Prop it underneath with something to make sure the air gets to the cooling fan.

Well u need a graphics card only if ur gonna use ur lap to play high quality games...the first thing u should decide is on the screen size ive got a del studio series which has a screen size of 15 inch which is pretty decent for watching movies and playing games....u can also settle for a 14 inch screen if ur not so much into movies and games which will reduce ur cost...the next thing u will decide is ur storage anything between 300 and 500 gb is good but u dont need anything over 300 unless ur going to store movies on ur system rather than watching them on dvds and cds....next u have to decide ur ram capacity and for ur needs 2gb dual core is more than enough... Then lets see...yeah thts bout it go to dell.com and build ur own lap with these config ull get a really good lappie for abt 450
