Question: Nice cheap laptop computer?

I am looking for an affordable, nice, cheap, laptop computer. i am attending gradschool next year and will be doing more commuting and am looking to buy a laptop computer. I want one simply for school work. So good internet use, word processing type stuff, and one with a DVD player. I dont be putting media on there or anything. I have a desktop for that. So i dont need a ton of memory or anything. Ideas? I was looking at the IMB thinkpad. I dont want to spend more than $500.

This time of year u can find sales. Browse the internet and check sales ads for walmart, best buy, staples, office max etc. u should find one in your price range.

WAL-MART carries Acer laptops for less than $500.Works good but larger than the more expensive ones.
