Dell laptop battery not charging?
Hi, I just recently bought a new battery for Dell latitude c840 but something seems to be wrong either with the laptop or battery because when I put it on charging, it shows me through power meter that it is being charged but in reality it is not. Moreover, if I try to charge it when shut down, it only shows the charging light for 2 or 3 minutes and than the light shuts down. Any help in this case will be much appreciated.

One day when I turned on my computer it said something about the computer not recognizing the power supply. It shows on the task bar that I have my power supply plugged in, but does not show it charging. As soon as I take the cord out, my battery dies and my laptop shuts off. What can I do to fix this? I dont know what the problem is.

How is my dell laptop battery not charging when it flashes two green bars on the battery?
i have a dell e1505 laptop and have had it for almost 3 years now. the weird thing is that i tried to use the laptop without ac power and my battery light came on. ok, so it needs to get charged and i put in the ac adapter, charged it overnight and tried to use the laptop again without ac power. again it didn't work so i checked the laptop battery and it says it only has 3 % battery. i take out the physical battery and check that too and it has only two green lights so i figure its only at 40 % degradation. i use the dell startup diagnostics and it says nothings wrong. im thinkin about getting a new battery but apparently my warranty expired already so dell wont assist me in buying a new one . help plz. thanks in advance

Dell laptop battery not charging but icon says it's connected?
i have a dell inspiron 1525, that's about 2 yrs old. my battery power icon all of a sudden is stating that the laptop is " plugged in, battery not charging" . i know these batteries don't last forever but it happened all of a sudden. does the battery just go dead like that, that quickly? or should i take it in to a professional to check it for some other power supply issue? if it's just the battery, can i pick one up off ebay or some other aftermarket source or should i pay the rediculous price dell wants for a dell brand battery?

i have a dell inspiron 1525, that's about 2 yrs old. my battery power icon all of a sudden is stating that the laptop is " plugged in, battery not charging" . i know these batteries don't last forever but it happened all of a sudden. I have replaced the battery That didnt work. I replaced the power cable That didnt work. I replaced the motherboard that didnt work. Does anyone have any sensible solutions that I can perform? I need my laptop. It works without the battery in but still comes up with the error at the beginning of logging in where you press F1, F2 or F3.. But still works when the cable is plugged in HELP FYI I recycled the old battery.. Please do not presume I did not. That is rude. I just want an answer to help with my issue on my laptop.In addition the new battery is a Dell one and is warranted for a yearThe new charger was also brought from Dell along with the new motherboard. It has probably cost me near on 100 for all this and still it shows as battery not charging the only way I can use my laptop is with the charger plugged in . This sucks.
