I cant get dell laptop to instal windows?
i have a dell inspiron 1000 older computer so basically what happened was my mom let her friend try to fix it and when i got it back and turned it on it goes to a black menu that say i can hit F1 to start windows or F2 to recalibrate the battery well i did F2 first and it told me that battey could not be calibrated so i hit F1 and it asks me which version of windows i would like to run xp home xp professional and xp professional again so i have hit enter on all giving me a different answer cannot start because of system32.hal.dll and the others say windows can not start so i the computer cam with XP on it so i tried to put windows 98 on just to at least get it to run and during the installing it has about 16min left and it froze i found an old e machine restore xp disc that wont instal on one disc it gave me the option to access command prompt so i did FDISK and formatted c drive still no change i found that the hardware in the BIOS say it Has a Toshiba MK3021GAS hard drive so my next question is are dell and Toshiba compatible or its this a tech problem
How do I clean a dell laptop fan?
On my laptop, there is no removable panel to access the fan. I tried to spray a lot of the dust out with compressed air through the holes, but this can only get so much dust out. My laptop is very overdue for a cleaning, and there are huge clumps of dust stuck in there that won't come out. What should I do?

Well it all started when one day I come back from school and go on my computer and every time it tried to load windows a blue screen would appear for a second and the computer would restart and it would keep doing this so the only other think i can do was use the repair option so after about 2 hours it said my computer was repaired now every time windows is done loading it would go to a black screen where you would usually log in at but the cursor does pop up but that's it. I cant restore it to a past point because me being dumb didnt back it up and i have a black disk that it came with wich i believe is the restore disk but idk how to use it if i can even log in the computer

my little brother messed with it, so when i click on it, the picture comes out super small and then it zooms in. it's really weird and i have no idea how to fix it. can anyone help or have ideas as to how to fix it? because when i used to take pictures, they would come out big, and after he messed with it they're small

Dell Laptop black screen on cold startup?
When I start my laptop after it being off for a few hours it will start normally, but after a few minutes 1 10 in windows, the screen with go black sometimes with a buzzing noise or strange color pixel pattern. It will either restart itself or I will hold the power down to do a hard restart. After restarting this way it will work for hours with no problems. Why would this only be on a cold startup? I have tried updating drivers and bios because I thought that may be the problem. I also scan regularly with updated Malware Bytes. reinstall have a dell laptop and I need to reinstall the software into it.It says Choice Action " Run the 32 bit dell diagnostic or " quit" I choose the Run 32 bit.Then it says " Dell 32 bit Diagnostics for Resource CD or " Exit" I choose the 32 bit on, again.Then it gives me 3 choices " Test Memory" " Test System" and " Exit" Am I doing this right so far? I choosed every option that it gave me and I don't know how to reinstall it.
