Why can't they make a stupid external video card for laptops!?
For god sakes. I can build a decent computer for 300$. All i want to do is get a cheaper laptop so that i may occasionaly go to my friends apartment and play video games with him. But no I either have to spend over 1k on a decent laptop or lug my huge computer and huge monitor and all my stupid ass cords and shit. It pisses me off All the threads link stuipid ass usb video cards that were never released and they suck balls anyways because they were bottlenecking. Damn it

My Toshiba uses a built in, Intel video driver and it doesn't seem to work with Maya. I heard it's a pain in the ass or impossible to replace video cards in laptops, so I heard there are actually external I'm guessing USB ones that can be used... Although I couldn't really find anything like this on eBay, but perhaps I wasn't searching the right terms.Does something like this exist for under $100 and what should I get look for? i asked somone at the store i bought my laptop from, he said u can buy external graphic cards for laptops as u can only upgrade the ram and hdd on laptops. my laptop has onboard graphics but im just wondering does anyone know where to buy an external video card that i can connect 2 my laptop via usb or something?

I heard of the xg station, which was suppose to be an external video card for laptops with slow video cards. It was going to be released in 2007, but it looks like it was cancelled. External Video card for laptop gaming?
Ok so it is my understanding that they now have external video cards. Are any of these able to transmit fast enough, and good enough, graphics that I could use one good enough to upgrade my laptop? My current graphics are on a Mobile Intel R 4 Series Express Chipset Family. If I can use it like an upgrade which one do I need to run games like World of Warcraft? Will that one be good enough for Star Wars Galaxies?
