Some schools in the UK are renting laptops out free of charge to people that are living on benefits and do not have a computer or laptop or even just internet connection to do homework ect. i was chosen as elegible as we did not have internet at that time and i went through the process of a meeting with the finance manager to sign documentation. they give you a brand new laptop with a 12 month internet access (though it is very slow) after that you are left to get it yourself. mine was t mobile but some may be different. i have had mine for 2 years but after internet ran out i connected it to my wireless. it is mostly in secondry schools which your daughter is not long aproaching so it would be worth asking about it when she joins her new secondry school. it is very handy but you do have to pay for any damage you cause to it. this is the UK. hope this helped x |
