Question: Is their a contest for free laptops for educational use?

Is there a contest (like an essay contest) for a change to win a free laptop for educational use? I have a very cheap and slow laptop and am on a robotics and video game development team that requires use of huge programs. My computer can't handle most of them and has a terrible battery life (and other specs). It will be used for graphic design (Photoshop, Maya, etc.), and to control a robot. I'm in need of a computer with a better processor and what not- - but I simply can't afford it.

Well, since you are part of a group and this laptop is going to be used solely for the activities associated with the group, you guys can save for a laptop as a group. When and if the group disbands, you guys can then sell the laptop and split the money. You and your group can also have a fundraiser. Writing a 1000-word essay about how you spent your summer vacation isn't going to get you a laptop. Like with everything, money talks, and you need to save for what you want over time.
