My laptop is running with Vista, I don't know if that makes a difference. It will run Internet Explorer, Steam, and other games. But it won't run AIM, Windows Live, Firefox, and online registration. I tried turning the firewalls off but that doesn't work... any other ideas?
Is a $1200 gateway fx laptop a quality computer?
I'm looking at a laptop and this is about the only one that has all the feature i want, such as 260m video card and a 2.53 cpu,, and 17 inch screen. as of 1 24 10 they cost about 999 to 1249..... are these good computers? thanks.
My gateway fx laptop's keyboard wont work! help!?
i was playing a game on my computer today when it spontaneously shut off for no reason, and when i rebooted only 18 keys would work, forcing me to use the on screen keyboard with a touch pad i have run 2 virus scans windows and trend and they show no problems, wasnt over heated or anythingThe only keys that work properly are q w e r t y g h ' backspace shift tab and the up keyalso all numbers above the keyboard And when i press some buttons, i get something else, i.e.A ,P 94 right of keyboard backspace6 right of keyboard space bar right of keyboard o letter im so frusterated. what should i do

So i have had a gateway fx laptop for about a year and i got a problem....?
when i plug in the charger to a power outlet the little green light on the power brick is on, but when i plug it in the laptop it turns off and doesn't charge. does anyone know what could be causing the problem and how i could fix it if it is fixable ?what was the part needed?

im finding that sometimes when i play my games the mic dosent work.. i use headphones.. sometimes plugging them in and out fixes it.. mostly not.. i use the bilt in microphone not a headset...when i go to input volume.. it then starts to work also.. why does it not work sometimes and how do i fix it???
Gateway FX laptop troubleshooting?
My Gateway FX Notebook crashes if it is in single display mode. If I run it in dual display mode it runs flawlessly, but it has to be set to " desktop clone" . What could be the problem? It has been this way since I bought it in June '09. Thanks in advance. Note It has Nvidia Geforce 9800m GTS graphics I have to say. The first two answers could not be any more useless. thanks.The Laptop came with the card idiots. I wish I could get someone with half my IQ on here. Thanks.
Can I put more RAM in my Gateway FX Laptop?
I own a Gateway FX P 7805u, and it comes with 4GB DDR3 RAM. If I wanted to upgrade this to say 6 or 8 gigs, would I be able to? It says on one website that the " maximum" ram is 4GB, but what if I were to just buy bigger cards, like two 4 gigs, would I be able to install them?I want a bit more kick out of this thing for gaming, I need more RAM packing behind the monster video card in this thing.Ahh, I forgot about the motherboard detail.Does anyone know the specifics on this laptop? Or where I could find them?I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit.
Why does my Gateway FX Laptop keep crashing?
My Gateway fx ms2252 keeps crashing randomly while playing a number of games. Here's the deal, i can play games like World of Warcraft, Spore, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Zero Gear and Killing Floor without crashing much at all. but when i play Counter Strike, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Half Life 2 and even Audiosurf, i usually crash within 5 min to about an hour of playing... completely random. i play a lot of games from Steam and every game crashes at its own pace. i'm not sure if it has to do with my graphics card since all the games have different graphic details, but i wonder why i can play Portal 2 from beginning to end without crashing once but cant play a low graphic game like Counter Strike because i crash around 20 min in. turning the graphics as low as they can go seems to help a lot, but it doesn't solve the problem. I even crashed while playing Chess Titans. i don't think its over heating, because i can turn my laptop on and start playing a game right away with my fan on and still crash quickly on certain games, and i check how hot it is underneath and it isn't that warm. this laptop use to have Vista, but was changed to Windows 7 by the previous owner, maybe it has something to do with that? he also upgraded the RAM. i'm not very good with computers and barely know what i'm talking about, but i've had this problem for over a year now and i'm soooo sick of it. i don't know if this is an easy fix or not, and i'm too broke to take it to professionals to fix it. i paid a lot of money for this Laptop from E Bay over a year ago and there is no warranty on it. someone PLEASE help I know I should write my Specs down, but i'm not sure whats important so i'll just write everything i see that looks important.Intel R Core TM 2 Duo CPU T9900 3.06GHz 3.07 GHz8.00GB64 bit NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS
Gateway fx laptop wont shut down?
I bought this gateway fx laptop from best buy a week ago now when i shut it off using the start shutdown it shuts off but the starts back in a few seconds , should i return it or what i bought at bestbuy by the way thanks
