My gateway laptop wont turn on! help please!?
im posting the from my cell phone... anyways my laptop wont turn on a couple months ago it stoped charging. i unplugged it and it would die quickly. but, normally the charge would come back. now i must keep it pluged it at all times. the battary is only about 60 % full. but it said it needed to turn off to update. i came back to it today and tryed to turn it on, but it wont. this happen once, but i took the battary out put it back in and it worked. this time it wont.... its been cold so i thought it was that but even when i try to warm it up it wont turn on.... please help my dad will kill me if it doesnt work .... sorry for any miss spellings, i am on my phone without spell check, and i cant spell..... sorry.. i just need help... and fast...

My gateway laptop wont turn on so i did a system recovery.......?
and i inserted the disk but in the first maybe 1 min it says could not recover file and it says retry or abort so i clicked retry and it said could not recover file again...what should i do?

I got my laptop on my birthday September 3. I woke up and went to my laptop and tryed to turn on. Nothing happneded. So I put in cord. Nothing happended. Took battery out and back in. Nothing Happended. Any Help?

It's a gateway laptop. For some reason it wont turn on . When it is plugged in the battery light blinks but it wont let me power it up. The power light is not lighted. Please help

I have a gateway lap top that i purchased in 2008.my problem is that it will not turn on. when i plug in the power adapter, the lights do not come on at all. when i press the power button, nothing happens... but after a few minutes of having the power adapter connected, with or without the battery, my laptop gets very hot, but yet there are no lights indicating that the battery is charging or that the laptop is even on. the fan doesnt make any sound, but yet my laptop gets very hot, right in the area where the touchpad is located. i have tried taking out the battery, and just running off the main power, but nothing.. no lights.. nothing turns on, but my laptop gets hot. i tried holding down the power button for 30 secs 1min.. i tried taking the memory out.. still nothing.. the only thing it does is get hot. the morning that this happened, my laptop was running fine. i have my laptop sitting on a cool fan, but was not using it. my laptop was not hot at all. after letting vista download its updates, i shut down my laptop.. and now it will not turn on at all. is this something that i can try to fix on my own, or would you recommend i send it in?.. being a college student.. im worried that this is going to cost a fortune.. although im glad that this happened before the fall term has started, i would like to have my laptop ready when school starts. i do not play games or watch any videos on it or any such activities. i use it strictly for assignments, lectures, and projects. i am very appreciative of any help you can provide. thank you

ok. i have a gatway laptopand i clicked the start turn on buttonit comes up with the windows screen, but after that. it's just blank.it's a black screen that comes up and i can move the mouse cursor but i can't do anything..can anyone explain why and tell me how to fix it? obviously im not using that laptop right now

I have a gateway laptop, I think I remember I put it on hibrinate mode and then when I turned it on it doesnt show anything on screen. The led blue light blinks when I press on it, and the pink light turns on by the mouse button..and then it turns blue when charged for 1 hour.... I replaced the battery still didnt turn on, I replaced the charger still didnt turn on. I left the laptop in a cool place for months and turned it on one day and the screen turned on and was working, but the battery wasnt charging fast. When i shut it down, it wouldn't turn back on again, so the led blinks and nothing works on the screen... I was told I need to replace the motherboard switch, is this what the problem is? please help, I am confused thanks

Gateway Laptop wont turn on!?
Hello, I was on my laptop and fell asleep for about three hours and when I woke up it was off. So, I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't. I've tried for hours to get it back and working but it just won't start. The light next to the battery light flashes a bit but that's it. I've done the whole unplug battery and power and hold power button for 30 seconds but that hasn't worked. Please help me I don't think I need a new charger because the battery isn't dead though so I don't see how that works..

GateWay laptop wont turn on!?
I have a MX6426 gatewat laptop, and its about a year 1 2 old. so unfortunatley, the warranty expired so i cant get it fixed.that laptop was the only one that ive never had problems with, until the charger started getting..." soft" ...it started to get very hot when i plugged it into my computer, and eventually it broke, i think it was a short circuit, because i had a similar problem with a Vaio laptop, i fixed it by getting a new charger, so i bought a new charger for the gateway, since obviously, without a charger i cant use it.i bought a universal one made by Targus this was about a year after it broke i found the right point, or whatever its called, and it fits perfectly...but it doesn't charge i tried turning it on, it turned on TWO times, out of the...hundred attempts, but it was only for 2 seconds.I dont think its the battery, since it has a button that tells you the charge, and if it was broken, then it probably wouldnt show that.i THINK its something wrong with the laptop, i used a voltmeter with the charger, and it works fine.i dont know what the problem is, please help me troubleshoot this is the best computer in my house...which is sad, since i have 3 PC's and one other laptop xDand i cant afford to buy a new one PS. do laptops have fuses? O.o Al ScusiIts not the Fans, or the vents, because the computer wont even turn on It cant be anything wrong with the cable either, since its BRAND new, and i but today i tested it with a volt meter, and there was nothing wrong so it probably something that got screwed up in the computer cause its been dropped quite a few times...

The model No. W6501The laptop got hot & had a burned metal scent.. It froze so we turned it off.. Now it won't turn on or charge.. Do we need a new battery,?? Help please.

Can someone help me with my Gateway laptop ? Wont turn on.?
my gateway laptop wont start. I turn it on and the screen is black. It later goes to the logo of Gateway after that, t loads something, but after that goes nowhere. I tried to turn it on mulitple times. Im hesistant to press anything in the F10 " Boot Menu" . So I went to Best Buy and they checked it out and said I had to buy a Gateway Cd from the company. I called the company and they said the Cd is $150.00. but at Best Buy they said it would be from 35.00 to 50.00, is there any other way to fix this problem without having to buy the Cd to reinstall Gateway or whatever ? help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.
