I got it as a gift for xmas and it's giving me problems. My brother and I have both tried everything to restore it to working condition but it keeps messing up. I don't want to spend hours on the phone with technical support because they will just make me do things that I have already tried. I would rather have it fixed by a professional. I know I should take it back to the gateway company so they can fix it but where exactly? I live in Brooklyn and im a college student so im broke, any suggestions would be helpful

Bought a gateway laptop at bestbuy...?
it's an i3, supposed to be pretty fast, well its not. Laptop also has a very noticeable red pixel and not very good sound quality. Haven't even had it a week yet. Very disappointed. Considering returning it for a Sony Vaio i3. It is a smaller screen and a couple hundred dollars more. What would you do? I have a gateway laptop with ambient lighting. occasionally, while plugged in or not, the screen & the ambient lighting goes out. But the computer is still on and when the screen does come back, i am stil at the same place I left off of internet, project . What do I do?

Ok, all of a sudden my laptops lcd screen turned bright,The colors on a web page etc. look good but the white part looks really bright.I restart my laptop and it looks normal for a couple of seconds then it happens again?Heres A pic of how it looks. Gateway laptop won't turn on?
I have a Gateway MX6920 laptop that will not start. When I press the power button, it lights up blue and a few lights near the touch pad light up as well, but this only last for about half of a second, and it shuts off. This happens whether it is powered by a battery or AC adapter. The battery charges while it is plugged in, but the laptop won't turn on. Any ideas on how to fix it?
