Question: No sound through earphones on hp laptop?

I have an hp dv6500 (HP Pavilion dv6628us series) and one day a while back, when I plugged in my earphones no sound came through. Sound continues to come through the speakers, and it's not an issue with the earphones, because it works on my sister's laptop (which is the same as mine), as well as my mp3. If any of you could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

It would be a good idea to reinstall the audio/ sound driver for your laptop. Go to the hp driver website and download and install the sound driver for your specific laptop.
