Question: My hp laptop wont charge and keeps randomly shutting down?

Ive had a hp laptop for about a year and 2 months and all of a sudden it wont charge even though its plugged in. ive used different outlets and made sure that everything is plugged in and it still doest say that its charging and my battery is running out. also it keeps randomly shutting down and idk what im doing wrong. note: i did not drop my laptop or do anything to it, i was using like i normally do and this happened.

Windows laptop batteries are only rated to last for about a year before needing to be replaced. It's time to buy a new battery.

Try holding ur cable in ur laptop, and moving it around a bit. my old laptop wouldnt work unless i shoved it against a wall to keep the powere cord in place.

The battery needs replacement. Mine only lasted 10 months so don't feel bad for having to replace it. There are a number of reasons why your laptop is shutting down and it's hard to troubleshoot over a message board. A couple of years ago, I had a sony laptop that was shutting down because it was over heating. When the temperature gets too hot inside, the laptop shuts itself down to prevent critical damage. I opened up the laptop and pulled out the thickest imaginable lint square (kinda like you pull out of the clothes dryer) that was preventing the fan from doing it's job. I had another computer that that was randomly shutting down due to a virus. So I bought an iMac and my life has been easier since. Now I trouble shoot other peoples CPU's instead of mine.
