Question: I upgraded my hp laptop from vista to windows 7...........?

And a message comes saying " check backup settings ( important ) . your computer has been upgraded to a new version of Windows. As a result you need to re- configure your backup settings. What does this mean? HELP :/

It means you have to reconfigure your backup settings. In other words... since upgrading your computer all your files are in different places so any backup routines you had in place before the upgrade will no longer work. That's assuming you had some kind of automatic backup set up in the first place... if not you can probably just ignore that message. Write it off as yet another Windows bug.

This is for you to set the path and folder options for the automatic back up process that you have configured As you have altered the OS you will need to redo these settings so that your back ups will be completed correctly

It is telling you that you need to back up your files. win 7 allows you to automate this service so that it automatically does a back up. If you don't want to see the alert open the action center and disable it. it's probably a good idea to do a back up once in a while but you can do that manually

It means that you would have to: CHECK UR BACKUP SETTINGS jk, it means that you would have to set when do u want to back up (as in monthly, weekly, yearly, etc) and it might be asking u to back up right now
