Best IBM laptop for $500 - $600?
Hey guys, I am looking for a new Laptop and have heard some good things about IBM. In January, I made the terrible mistake of buying a Dell... Never again, I can tell you that much. Anyways, onto the question.I'm looking for the best IBM or Thinkpad laptop that I can get. However, I don't want to spend more then 500 or 600 dollars. I'm on a pretty tight budget. I was looking the IdeaPad s10 2, but I found it has a couple things missing. It doesn't have a CD drive, which I need. Also, it doesn't have a slot for an express card. That's not a necessity, it would just be nice haha. It'll be a laptop mostly for school, but I also want to be able to browse the internet pretty well and play games on it. I'll also have music downloading on it as well. What's the best IBM or Think pad laptop to go with given the amount of money I'm looking to spend?

i love ibm laptops ... and i herd that they are the best out there... i need one but i dont know which one is the best i need a good one it dosnt have to be the best and the most expensive but a very good one . SO does anybody know which one i should get? and if you know the price please add it in the answer thank you
Some help my with my ibm laptop please?
it was originally " designed for xp" and i wanted to experiment w trying to run it with windows 98. So i rebooted it with that. Now when i try to format it with my windows xp disc, it freezes up, and won't perform setup. HELP
Ibm laptop battery sticking at 96% and not charging any futher?
when ever i am at starbucks i always use the ac power with my battery still in the laptop.If i have lets say 95 % charge when i am on the internet,after about one half hour the battery fully charges to 100 %.Now when ever i use the laptop if the taskbar shows lets say 96 % charge i can sit there for hours and it will not charge any higher.

Is it safe if i take an old 2004 broken ibm laptop apart just for experimenting?
yeah obviously i know not to plug it in or i wouldn't be wanting to major in business information technology so i found an old ibm from 2004 that is like completely destroyed. i plugged it in before and it won't turn on nor will anything happen to it totally gone and so i was going to throw it away but then i realized i wanted to practice taking computers apart because i am going to be studying business information technology applied information technology next year and want to learn how not to take a computer apart before i go to college. so i was wondering is it safe? i mean like i don't care if i break any peaces at all because i'm just going to throw it out afterwards but is it safe like will i get shocked if i touch certain peices even though they're not on? i'm just going to like unscrew like the parts to look inside the actual computer and see how it works not on but just experimenting . so is there anything i want to know on how not to get myself hurt ie shocked, cut etc... i don't really care about the computer for the computer is junk . so is it safe to do that? what should i know before i start the experiment?

I need to restore my older IBM laptop to its factory settings. It got infected with a nasty virus, so I need to restore it when I just boot it up. I know how to do it with my new HP laptop, but F11 does not work on IBM's I guess? Anyone know what I need to press?

hello. i have a ibm t42 laptop. i was looking at getting a new battery because my old one doesn't work anymore.should i get one that costs $35 that is 6 cell and 4.4 amp houror one that is $50 that is 9 cell and 7.8 amp hour?about how long would the 6 cell last on one charge, brand new?about how long would the 9 cell last on one charge, brand new?is it worth the money to go for the 9 cell??thanks

I have a thinkvantage IBM laptop and it won't load windows. How do I fix this?
I turned my laptop on and it says that it didn't shut down properly and when i click " Start Windows Normally" The screen where Windows is loading with the loading blue bar continues to load non stop. If I try booting it in safe mode it stops at " starting windows" and stays like that.Please Help. Thanks
