Question: How to get wifi on my ibm laptop?

Hi, i have a IBM laptop computer, and im in the process of getting the operating system back on the computer. i dont know what exactly comes with it and cant seem to find if it has wifi or not for internet acess. (was given to me this way) so im just going with the flow and hoping it will work. i wanted to know after the computer is up and running, how would i be able to get wifi acess on the computer, i cant use a cord because the internet acess im getting is from the people on the 1st fl, so i need to have wifi connection in order to work. please in detail if someone can help tell me what i would need to do, buy, install, etc....and about how much i would prob have to spend....and does anyone think that the guy coming to fix my operating system would be able to fix it? and if so could this be done in 1 day??? sorry for the 20 questions but i cant find the info im looking for on the web and i suck at browsing...please can anyone help me out...any and all info is appreciated and needed. thanks! its a IBM Think pad....and i dont know which #s in the back are the model #, it doesnt say exactly....how do i know which # is the model #? it says type 2683- 48u s/ n fx- 04750...if that helps...

What kind of IBM is it? Most of the newer ones have wi fi cards already installed. You can go here www-307.ibm.com/ pc/ support/ site.wss/ TPAD-MATRIX.html If it is a lenovo. Then find your model number and click on download drivers The guy who fixes your operating system should install the drivers (If he knows what he is doing) Good Luck

I only know 2 ways of looking for wifi. either call the company that design the laptop or look for a wifi switch on the laptop. Or search for a wireless directory on the software

You can get a usb device that will pick up internet, or you can get a card to install on the computer you should be able to find them through New Egg.com or E-Bay cast Veriee's If the person that is fixing your computer is a computer tech he should be able to get ether of these for you
