It's not an IBM, IBM themselves haven't made a laptop in 5 years, Lenovo owns the division and has been making their computers ever since. But the one you're looking at isn't a laptop either, it's a netbook, hence why it has no CD drive and rather low performance. Now if you really still want a Lenovo, Best Buy sells one model for $649 with a CD/ DVD drive, 4GB of RAM and enough power to run basic games, Internet surfing, etc. More powerful games will require something more expensive. By the way, the answer suggesting a refurbished IBM T42 Thinkpad, you realize by today's standards that kind of computer is garbage, 1.5GB of RAM, 60GB of hard drive space, 64MB of shared video memory, a single core processor below 2GHz. Fine it's an IBM but what's the point of getting a long lasting laptop if it isn't going to be able to run modern programs or be completely outdated in less than a year. |
