Question: My ibm laptop doesn't install xp from a cd?

I took out my HDD and install from another laptop but when i put it back it says that NTLDR is missing. my cd drive doesn't work anymore. What can i do now? but my cd drive is not recognized! i think it is not working anymore. how am i going to install? i try to load from BIOS but it still doesn't read the cd

Double check the connection to see it's sitting snug into the MB.

You can't install Windows on a HDD in another machine then put it in a different machine. NTLDR is the NT Loader, the install is designed to create a boot loader for your machine and hardware specifically. Go into the BIOS and change the boot order to do the CD ROM first then the HDD. Put the Windows CD in and wipe the Hard drive and reinstall from the laptop you intend to run Windows on. Follow me on Twitter @techie_pro
