Gateway laptop charger port problems?
i have a gateway laptop fairly new. it's windows xp. my computer runs just fine, it's just that when i plug my charger cord into the port it doesn't work. it wont charge my battery. what do i do?? where do i go to get it fixed?
How much does it cost to fix a laptop charger port?
so, I haven't been able to use my laptop for 3 years....basically, I sat it on my lap a lot. it got to the point where it would only charge when i held the wire in strange positions, and then it stopped charging all together.the battery is fine, because it still holds a charge, the charger cord was brand new. I read that the power acceptor inside has become loose, and just needs to be sodered back on. i was just wondering how much that would cost, and if it would be worth it.
HELP theres green stuff on my laptop charger port and other stuff?
i have it where i put the charger in my charger itself the metal brass looking things where i put the battery in itself and possibly the batteryi think its because my brother uses it and he says if you put saliva in it it will conduct better and i think thats what happennednow my battery wont charge and when i put the charger in it wont turn on even when the battery is out can i clean fix it or am i screwed
How to fix a laptop charger port ?
I have had my laptop for roughly three years, I just recently downloaded windows seven and other programs, When all of a sudden my laptop just stopped charging. I though with age it would be okay but it WONT charge. Im thinking it is the charger port??? Does anyone know how I can fix it CHEAP? I researched and people were saying I have to get a whole new mother board which is around 3 bills? Is this true?Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated D

OK, so this is what happened. I accidentally knocked over my dell laptop, it's an old model. Now the hole where the charger goes is broken. No charger is working on it and the battery is dead. I tried putting a pin in and twisting but it does'nt work. I thin the charger port has broken as I can hear a sound when I move my laptop. Please tell me if this can be fixed I love my laptop and I want it back I have heard that it costs a lot to repair this but I am short on money There is a technician in my town who could probably fix it. Can you tell me the general cost of this getting fixed? Apparently you have to take apart the whole laptop and some people talk about replacing motherboards and I REALLY can' afford that PLease help Thanks in ADVANCE

Is my laptop charger port repairable?
My charger for my laptop stopped working so i got a new one online, but i don't think it was the right one because it was loose but it still charged my laptop.. I've had it for a while now, but a few days ago, it stopped working. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and then sparks came out.Then I tried another charger for the same model laptop but it won't work. I guess it got fried inside the charger port. Is this fixable? If so, how much would it cost?My laptop still works though..Ive just been charging my battery on someone else's laptop and it still works that way. Would it still be not worth it to fix?

i had a question from it a couple weeks ago but i need a good answerits because that my little brother put saliva in the charger and battery brcause my chargers horriblenow theres green stuff on iti want to be able to do it myself because i realy dont have the money nor my brotheris it like a car battery when theres green stuff on it and can i be able to clean it the same wayi heard theres a way to do it with a tooth brush or steel wool which i have and or with tooth paste ? ? ? ? or just the brushes and also it that can work i have this golfball or golf cleat cleaner that can fit in there hard plastic and on the other side, brass PLZZZZ help
My laptop charger port is jammed back into my laptop?
As in, when I plug it in, it's too far back in there so the plug doesn't reach it. Thus, no charging. How do I fix this? Is there a way I could do it at home? It's a small acer aspire one laptop.
Loose Laptop Charger Port?
I kind of half dropped my laptop onto the carpet yesterday and i'm sure the laptop is fine but when it fell, the charger was plugged in and it twisted awkwardly. Now, when i plug it in it doesn't charge and in the charger port, the little wire inside is loose and i can move it around but i couldn't fix it. Plz can someone tell me what is wrong and if possible how i can fix it.Thanks in advance PS I'm not really sure what model it is if that matters? but it's a Acer and it says Extensa 4620 If that the model? .Sorry, i forgot to mention that it sometimes charges but only after some twisting of the charger and even then, if i move a little it stops charging.
Laptop charger port repairable?
So one night i dropped my laptop from my bed and when i picked it up i noticed something was wrong with the charger area. First off the power module jack was completeley busted and when i try to plug it in it would not enter the port entirely.therefore my laptop would not charge. I have a Hp G62 and u hear if the dc jack is connected to the motherboard i am completely screwed. Will hp warranty cover this?Please help 30 pts for best answer

So I bought this laptop for my kid sister , it's a older toshiba , toshiba a75 s209 to be exact. I believe I know what the issue is but more so don't know how to fix it or what's the technical term. The laptop will work if I hold the power cord in with my hand but only if I hold it in a exact spot and very firm but if I move just a little , it shuts down . I don't believe it's the battery because once I got the cord to stay in for about a hour and the laptop stayed on , no problems. . I believe its something wrong with the port ,at first thought my charger might have a shortage , but ruled that out since I bought another and the issue still persists. So my question is, how can I fix this or if I even can , and how much will a new port cost? Any help is appreciated, thanks
Laptop Charger port help?
I was using my Sony Viao laptop what else would I be doing? , and I leaned off to the side to grab my TV Remote, but while doing so, the laptop fell off of my lap, with the charger cable still in it, and it landed on the charger port. The charger port came loose Possibly pushed in from the fall, and the only way to get it to charge is to wiggle it into a very odd position.I'm afraid to take apart my laptop, and I'm afraid to mail my laptop away to someone who I don't know who claims they can fix laptops. Is there any electronics store, such as Staples and Radioshack, that can repair this kind of damage?Thanks for any names given
