Good laptop cooling pad?
I have a dell inspiron 1440. When it was designed they designed it so that when you open the screen, the fan on back of the computer is blocked by the screen. Also it gets hot underneath it. I keep it on a hard plastic, to help it breathe, but it doesn't seem to help much. I want to get a Laptop cooling pad, but there are so many on ebay, I have no clue which one is good or bad. My laptop is 14 inches. If anyone can recommend some that are good, I would really appreciate it.

I got my daughter a new Gateway Intel Pentium Processor 11.6" Display 3GB Memory Model EC19C08U laptop for Christmas and read the following review on the BestBuy website regarding it < i> I purchased this and Loved it for about a month. Had it a month, my wife set it on the couch and went to the kitchen and back and it burned up Sent it into Acer to be repaired, took 2 full weeks to get it back Had it for 3 days and the same thing happened. I'm guessing it's a design flaw, because it is vented on the bottom, so if you set it on anything that isn't perfectly flat, then it burns up or overheats or something??? In the process of sending it back and getting a partial refund. I've had Gateways before and thought they were really good, but maybe since it's really an ACER now??? Has anyone else had this problem? Do laptop cooling pads work?
Do laptop cooling pads with fans prevent the computer from getting too hot, or is a laptop pad with no cooling whatsoever work just as good? It seems as if you use a cooling pad with fans, it merely prevents your own lap from getting warm.

I bought a cheap USB laptop cooling pad from amazon. It does make a difference but I was wondering if there is any way to speed it up just a little bit.It has 3 individual small fans. I was wondering if cutting the power off from one of the fans would make a difference. All the cable are exposed on the bottom so it's a simple task.
