Which laptop cooling stand is better?
My laptop keeps overheating so I need to buy something to cool it. I'm on the circuit city website and looking for a laptop cooling pad stand. I wanna get one $20 or less. I found two of them with good ratings. How effective are laptop cooling stands/pads?
Today I am going to make my own laptop cooling stand out of aluminium sheet, a very powerful PC fan and an AC adapter. I want to know how effective these stands really are? My PC sits at about 50 degrees Celsius when im just browsing the net or reading ebooks etc, but when I play games it jumps to around 75 degrees, which is pretty damn hot.... So this is my question Will a very strong cooling stand decrease my CPU temp by a noticeable amount?
Can anyone recommend a REALLY good laptop cooling stand?
I have been reading recommendations and reviews on Best Buy and it seems like none of the cooling stands are any good at all My laptop gets so hot it shuts off after being online for about 2 minutes. I have it resting on a bag of frozen strawberries right now Has anyone purchased one that they really like and would suggest to someone else. I was hoping to spend around $30, but would spend more for quality. Please only answer if you can really help and have purchased one before. Thank you.PLEASE do not comment if you can not suggest a cooling stand. I am not interested to know that you had a laptop that never overheated. You just got 2 points for yourself and didn't help me at ALL

This laptop runs very hot and gets little ventilation when sitting on a table. I have it sitting on top of bouillon cubes for elevation right now so it can ventilate.I need something portable And something that will greatly improve the ventilation.Thanks,DB

I would like to build a laptop cooling stand. Should the fans I use be sucking air away from the laptop or blowing air onto the laptop? My laptop gets very hot and it needs strong cooling fans I think.

The laptop cooling stand that I'm using has shown various issues since I've had it. I'm wondering if I'm the one doing something wrong.For the first month the fan worked wonderfully, but then it started making a grinding noise when starting up, but that eventually dissipated.Now, today, the fan made a loud grinding noise, and then the output of the fan dropped massively.If you imagine what a fan sounds like when it's just been turned off, the slow movement before the fan blades stop, that's what it's like. It's so slow that I can no longer feel the air output from it.Is there anything that can be done about this? I'd rather fix it, if possible, than buy a new one. But buying a new one isn't ruled out.I have cleaned the fan from dust, hairs and whatnot. Numerous times, as far as I know, there's nothing clogging it up. I've taken it apart to clean it. This, was not the cause of the issue as the issue was present before I had ever taken it apart I've just inserted the USB for the fan into my laptop just now, and it's just dead. There's no response whatsoever.

Best type of Laptop Cooling Stand/Fan?
I run several things on my laptop which require a lot of power professional video editing software and games such as The Sims 3 , thus making the laptop hot. I have always used a cooling stand to prevent over heating, and the one I currently have it getting a little tired. PSo, I'm looking to buy a new cooling stand for my 17 inch laptop, and am just wondering what the best type is. My current one has 4 fans in and is USB powered, which I prefer over a mains powered one.Should I be looking to get another one with 4 fans, or would a 3 fan one work just as well? What about the ones with just the one big 7 inch or so in the middle of the cooler? Are these better than the ones with 3 or 4 smaller fans?What about the position of the fans would that make any difference to the effectiveness? My current 4 fan cooler has 2 fans at the top, and 2 fans at the bottom. The 3 fan coolers that I've seen have 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom. I've also seen some with 3 fans in a single line, running across the middle of the cooler.So... yeah. Just looking for some direction as to which is the best type, and what I should be going for.
