Laptop external monitor Question?
I attached a external monitor to my laptop, but the external monitor's power indicator blinks constantly, and there is no picture on the screen. Also, I have a Nvidia video card and a 1440 times 900 resolution laptop screen. How do I get this to work?
Laptop external monitor stuck at low resolution?
I bought a asus ul30 yesterday and tried to hook it up to my Logitech monitor 2255 with a native resolution of 1650 x 1050. When it is plugged in it works but I am not able to go over 1200 x 800 resolution. Oh yeah I am running WIndows 7 and have also had this monitor hooked up to another computer previously and had no trouble with resolution.Drivers are updated my laptop screen is running at a 1366 x 768 but monitor can only get to 1200 x 800

I have a dv1000 and when I hook up my desktop monitor it shows the post then goes to the windows logo, then when I get to the users screen it doesnt show on the monitor and it shuts down like it's not connected to the laptop..
HP G62 Laptop external monitor issue?
Hi. When I connect my G62 Laptop to external monitor it works fine. Either extend or duplex.But when I close the laptop lover its screen the external monitor goes black as well. I upgraded the bios, video driver, the whole thing. nothing works,Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit. If you have a solution please share.Thanks
Laptop External Monitor Problem?
I have an ASUS K52JR laptop. The built in screen no longer functions so i have been using an external monitor. I just had to re install Windows 7 and now the laptop will not use the external monitor instead of the built in one. I can hear the Windows start up sound so i know that its booted. But i cant get the pc to use the other monitor. I have tried the Alt F5 8 etc and that does not work. Nor does pressing Win P do it. I really need this computer to work. Please helpThanksEDIT The screen on the laptop no longer functions, therefore I cant adjust the resolution. It is an LCD monitor. i tried plugging it into a CRT and that didnt work either. Neither does shutting the laptops lid, which is supposed to automatically switch it over.
Complicated laptop/external monitor problem?
Okay I got this HP Touchsmart laptop, and my screen is fucked up, so i bought an external monitor and it was working smoothly, till yesterday, when I open my laptop lid, the external screen goes black, and when I close my laptop lid the external screen works again. I checked the power sittings and chose " Do Nothing" when I close the lid. I don't know what's wrong.I rebooted the laptop many times. The problem that I rotated my laptop screen it's a tablet laptop and tried drawing while I look at the external monitor, then the screen went black since then. Only works when I close the lid. Like it's reversed or something.

This seems to be a dumb question but i was given a pc monitor to use as a second screen I have plugged in the blue cable but it has another cable to draw power from a pc how do i provide power with only a laptop?I have tried just using the blue cable but no power light on

Samsung laptop/external monitor problem.?
Hello, I hooked up my sister Samsung laptop running windows 7 to her TV , after we were done we shut it down but i stupidly forgot to 'Deactivate' the second monitor in the display settings.Now when the laptop is turned on after logging in the screen is black but i can still see and move the cursor. I have tried to plug the VGA cable back into the laptop and monitor but it was still the same and i cant find any answers online.Any one know of a way to sort this out?Thanks
Laptop external monitor not working, VGA or software problem?
My Laptops screen is very dim, so much so that I plug in an external monitor using VGA plug.I turned on my laptop today, and it loaded windows XP no problems, works fine.Right before it gets to the select user screen, it has " No Signal" displayed and turns yellow, as if my laptop was off.I restart it, and it does the same thing, loads windows, then the light turns yellow, as if my laptop is off.My question is, could this be a software problem?Assuming its not a hardware simply because it shows the F11 boot and windows xp loading screen.Any hints or clues to help me solve this problem is very appreciated, thanks It's definitely not the monitor, i used 2 different ones, both are doing the same thing..So I suppose it has something to do with the laptop, hardware or software one..
