Laptop fan replacement?
I have an HP dv5000 series laptop w a noisy old fan which I'd like to replace. When I look at the manual, it shows how to remove the fan assembly, heatsink and all. What I want to know is if I can easily remove the fan from the fan assembly? Or would it be easier to just replace the whole fan assembly? It's just that I can get a new fan for $12 bucks vs. a new fan assembly for $50 80.

I have a Gateway laptop and im looking to find a place to buy a new fan for it because mine doesn't work very well and makes a loud noise which gets very irritating.
