Lenovo laptop for college students?
I've been wanting a macbook pro for a while but they are grossly overpriced and you have to buy windows and a converter program. So anyway, I've been taking an interest in Lenovo laptops. Are they any good for a college student? My Dad's been using Thinkpads for 15 years now and likes them a lot. I kind of like Thinkpads. Price isn't a big concern. If they are good, which models are ideal for me? I use my computer for music itunes movies movie making microsoft office internet need a good graphics card for HD youtube videos pictures

Best Asus laptop for college student?
I'm going to be a college freshman and need a laptop. I've decided to go with Asus. I don't really play games. I surf the net quite a bit and would need this for homework as well. I need a good battery life along with that and something that is portable and light, probably a 14 inch display ideally, but 13.3 would be okay as well. I would like something that is the latest technology, and something that would last me preferably 3 to 4 years. I also like to watch tv and movies online. Suggestions?

I am going to college in the fall at Iowa State and I am going to be studying Mechanical Engineering. I was wondering what laptop would be the best for me. I am constantly on it currently to research, do homework, surf the internet, watch movies and listen to music. I need it to be portable so I can take it to classes but I don't want the screen to be too small no less than 14" . I also have a budget of under $900. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a durable laptop that will last me at least 4 years of college. It'll practically hold my life in terms of academics so I want a really reliable one The specs I know I want are 4 GB RAM 500 HDD i5 or i7 ProcessorAs for brand and screen size, I have no idea I'm not sure how big of a screen I should get, but I'm looking at 14'' 15.6''. Here are some of the things I know I do want Web Cam Windows Lots of memory Lots of RAM Not too thin Durable NO MACS Apple productI am going to be using it for internet access, typing papers, creating projects, and possibly gaming What kind should I get? Help please Price range from 300 600 dollars. If absolutely needd then ill go to 700. I have to buy other stuff for school though.

So I'm going to be going to college in the next year, and although I am really excited I have a great amount to prepare for. So I want to get a laptop and I do know a few things. I don't want to get a Mac, I'm used to and prefer PC's. I also don't want to get a netbook, I'd like to get a laptop that is a maximum of 15" and that has a webcam so I can stay in touch with family and friends, but I don't know which laptop is the best for aspiring college students. Good all around laptop for College student around $500-700?
I want a lap top that doesn't specialize on anything but can do everything, something that would help me in college and can also be an entertainment purpose laptop. I'm thinking of a sony vaio laptop. Is that any good? Any more recommendation. I dont like overpriced laptops. Please recommend me something as I said on the details. Thanks
