My laptop internet connection keeps disconnecting?

so im have two laptops, and one of the laptops has a problem. my laptop can't connect to the internet. i have a modem that is working properly because the internet works perfectly fine on my second computer. everytime i connect the cable to my non working computer, the internet wont work. it shows that there is not a connection. please help me. ps im using the same modem for both computers. it just happens to work with one not the other. thank you. also, the signal button is on.
Laptop Internet connection problems?
My Next door neighbors are letting me use their Internet. My iPod connects fine that's how I'm typing this but my laptop doesn't. It connected the first time I tried but now it just says connecting for ages and then " Connecting to the network is taking longer than usual" . Then is says " Windows was unable to connect" and that's it. I have no access to the router but I don't think that's the problem because my iPod works fine.Help?Thankyou
Laptop Internet Connection Help?
Hey guys I recently bought a WRE54G Linksys wireless expander for my room. My room is really far from my wireless router and the expander really helped out my connection. I do have one problem though. When I'm on my laptop all of a sudden usually once every 30 minutes I get kicked off of the internet. I go to my network and it says that my wifi is local only. I then disconnect and reconnect and it takes about 3 5 minutes to fix the problem. I don't know if there is anyway to fix this or not. This never happened before I got my Wireless Expander.Any help or ideas you can offer would be very much appreciated. Thanks for all your help

Laptop Internet Connection Problems!?
I have had my laptop for just over three years. A little over a week ago it stopped connecting to the internet although none of the settings have changed. Laptop Internet Connection Only Works Good When Charging?
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 I notice one day I've managed to do something on my laptop that makes my internet connection fast only when plugged in and charging. I could still use internet when unplug but not as fast nor good...please help and I have no idea how this happened.How can I undo this? Have anyone experienced this before?

Dell Laptop internet connection lost.?
My laptop wont connect to the internet, says no connections available. Usually it not only picks up my wireless but also next doors but won't pick up any. Have 2 other laptops in house which are both connecting to the internet. Both Toshiba laptops . Been gone for nearly 48 hours, done system restore, turned on and of wireless and phone am on BT . Asked this question earlier and someone answered something about a reciever button or something on the top left of the laptop, to make sure it is not on 'off'. I have looked and cant find a button anywhere. Have also taken battery out and put back in. Do not want to have to get professional help but been gone nearly 48 hours and no resoloution so far. Troubleshooter hasn't picked up any problems however something said about the adaptor not being connected, don't know what this is? But yea, other laptops are but mine isn't.Anyone with a resolution, or knows what this button on the top left of the laptop is that someone said about? THANK YOU
Laptop internet connection issues?
All I can tell yoou about this computer is that it's an msi a5000 laptop running XP on our wireless service with an internal internet card. my battery died earlier and I all of a sudden couldn't pick up internet connection, i installed a wireless adapter that connects thru a usb port and it's picking it up now albiet slowly and when i disconnect i have to uninstall and re install the product to make it work again. I ran norton, it didn't find anything, but sometimes it says " the host file is corrupt" and it' can't fix it. I tried recovery to a several days ago and that didn't work either. I have also reset the router and internet didn't work. What should I try to fix this problem?
