Ways to prevent laptop inverter board failure...?
I recently replaced the inverter power board in my Toshiba Satellite for the second time in the four years that I've had the computer. I know sometimes hardware fails for no reason, but since it seems to be a reoccurring problem, I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing to cause it. Any ideas?
Does everytime a laptop inverter is replaced, the screen should too?
I have a sony vaio and for a very long time I've had a problem with the screen it turned black, in the background I could see the image but there was no light brightness . I took the the laptop to Sony tech support and they say the problem is the inverter and that they need to replace it, but they say the need to replace the screen too. Are the ripping me off? because as far as I know the screen was just fine the only problem was the light brightness thingy...
Dell laptop inverter replacement?
I replaced the LCD inverter on my Dell laptop Inspiron 6000 because the screen was going dark after a couple of minutes being on. It worked for about 1 day. Now the screen goes dark after just a few seconds. I still suspect the inverter since I can still see the screen when I shine a light on it. Suggestions? Try again with a new ordered part? Give up? If it comes to the need for professional repair I'll just replace the laptop and use it for a video internet server for my family room TV

How can I tell if my toshiba laptop inverter is blown ?
Ok so I have taken apart my laptop screen and I've noticed that the inverter has yellow in the orange strip in other pics it doesnt have it, so my question is, is it burnt of blown??

I have replace the inverter on 2 Dell laptops Latitude D800, and and Inspiron 6000 . I get my screen back for a few minutes then I get the same problem as before I changed the inverter screen flickers, then goes black . It seems to be burning out the new inverter in a few minutes. What would be the cause of this? I have replaced the inverter with the exact same part number as the original inverter, twice. Any help or advice is appreciated.Thanks,SeanPower adapter is correct and have tested its output with a multimeter. Windows boots to the desktop but I can only see it with a flashlight. No errors during boot up to the desk top or while executing a program or browsing online.

Laptop inverter/backlight repair?
hi, my laptop has all the symptoms of having a broken inverter screen had turned a pinkish shade for a week before it started flickering and then just went black. Further looking actually showed that the screen had not completely gone as i could see some writing and pictures when looking at the screen at an angle but it was just so dark When i turn it on the screen is fine for about a minute before it flickers and goes off again.What I want to know is if it is possible to fix this myself? I did consult professionals but they want more money than i can afford to fix this problem. I can get an inverter part without any problem but if i find instructions to follow, should it be easy enough or extremely hard to fix myself? Is there any common mistakes made which i should watch out for?Any help or advice at all would be fab, thanks Thanks guys you have all been really helpful i was more doubtful as to whether i could actually achieve this and do it right but after reading the comments and seeing that they line up with what i know think, i feel more confident i'll be able to do this. Laptop inverter, repaired now more problems?
hi i just got my computer back from repairs yesterday. the screen had gone blank but you could still see detail in the background. the technician replaced the inverter as that was the problem and my laptop worked fine. now today on start up it looked perfect until it got through loading and to my main screen, where every time it returned to black. then it started working normal again after a few times of restarting it, but after about an hour it went back to black again. now on start up i only get a flash of the dell logo screen and it's tinted pink which the tech guy said if the problem had been the backlight i'd see like a pinkish screen ....what is wrong with my computer? did the tech guy screw up and can i have him repair it for free if that's the case? ..or should i just forget it and invest in a new computer earlier than i had planned?
Laptop inverter.................?
My other laptop's screen is completely black. There is no light on it but when I turn it on, I can see the HP logo very dimly. I have heard that this could be a backlight bulb issue or a screen inverter. Which one do I buy, do I buy both? Thanks.
Laptop Inverter/Light bulb?
On a laptop, where are the light bulbs located in the grand scheme of things. I believe either my CCFL bulb died on my laptop or my inverter might have gone bad. Where exactly are these items on the laptop? Are the light bulbs inside of the LCD plate? Could I just buy a new LCD plate screen and everything will be fine.
Does my laptops inverter need replacing or the whole screen?
my laptops screen light would go off and on, until it finally went completley, i have been told by pc shops that i either need a new inverter or screen. but there is a big price differencee between the two, so i don't want to have to pay lots of money if it is only the inverter that needs replacing. how can i detect what needs replacing. my laptop shows up on a external monitor perfectly fine. the laptop is a toshiba Satellite p200 1k9. 17inch screen.thanks.
