If suddenly my laptop just shuts off what could be wrong?

Sometimes my laptop just shuts off randomly, even when I use the adapotor why?

I have a Dell Inspiron mini, and I have a problem with it. My first problem was that my power cord was chewed on a bit by my cats and I had to situate my cord just right for it to work, so the cord would be off, then on, then off, then on, like I was plugging it in and out of my computer all the time, but obviously I had the charge to back it up. The cord problem is being fixed and I'm using a back up one for now. But a few days ago whenever the power cord would go out my computer would just shut off unexpectedly, the charge didn't do anything. Why is this?

While playing a computer game, my laptop just shuts off without warning. Whats going on?
I downloaded a computer game to my Dell studio 15 and using virtual clone drive, I mounted the game. When I play the game, the laptop randomly shuts off without warning. The time varies...sometimes i can play the game for 30 mins before it shuts down....sometimes i can only play for 2 mins before it shuts down. When I turn the computer back on after it automatically shuts down it usually " blue screens" on me and restarts itself before i can even log into my profile. The game is old...much older than my computer so I dont think it as much to do with the computer not achieving the required specs of the game. But I could be wrong. Can anyone give some suggestions and help me out? Its appreciated.

It has done this twice in a couple of days. The adapter is plugged in, so it can't be the battery. While I'm using it, it just shuts off without any warning and then I have to manually restart it. Any ideas??

hello i need help figuring out what the hell is wrong with my acer aspire 5920 its really new and the damn thing shuts off on a full charged battery alone if its plugged in no problem but if just on battery it shuts off after a few min ....now the battery holds a full charge but if i open a folder or click on internet explorer its poof off dont get it at all please let me know what i can do before i send it away and i never see it again for months on in .......

My laptop just shuts off ike the battery hasn't been charged when Its been plugged in all day. Why?
My laptop suddenly shuts off by itself now. I leave it on standby plugged in all day. And randomly it will shut off in the middle of everything that I am doing It acts like it has no battery Now there is a Red Battery symbol constantly blinking at me even though its plugged in. Im worried. Do i need a new battery?

Ok so i keep running a virus scan on my laptop and before its done my laptop just shuts off...why?

i was on espn, and my laptop just shut off. no warning, no crashing, nothing. just BAM, its off. Now it wont turn back on. i press the power button, all the lights come on for a split second, and then theyre off. no hard drive spooling, no fans whirring, nothing.please help

Last night while my daughter was using my laptop, it just shut down withouth warning. It's a Toshiba but I dont know the specifics. It was plugged in with a full battery and gave no warning or acted funny before it shut down. It will not come back on. One of the lights on the computer will come on when I try to turn it on but goes out again after about 3 or 4 seconds this is while the charger is plugged into the unit. Also, when the charger is plugged into the unit the display light on the front of the computer doesnt light up showing the computer is charging.What could be the problem?About how much does it cost to repair a processer fan?

HELP! My brand new DV6 HP Laptop just shut off by itself... and won't turn back on!?
I was only on the computer for maybe 10 minutes. I got offline, then went to start up a video game for windows 98, that I ALWAYS play on my Windows 7 laptop... the CD in the drive began to spin and the screen went blank as if the game was launching itself like normal. But then the computer just failed and me and turned off, without even saving anything for me It was NOT a normal dead battery automatic shut off...Now I am trying to charge it. I plugged in the charger, and the light around the plug on the laptop turns on when the charger is plugged in, but the other light that normally blinks to show it's charging, is not blinking.The computer will not turn on it's BRAND new Is it the old video game that made my computer fail? Why did the game trying to launch itself make it shut off?All I want to know is what can I try to get it to turn on?Please help, thanks

I was watching a video on my laptop while laying down with a blanket, after 30 mins my laptop just shut off and now it won't turn on again. Please help, I am wondering if I have broken my laptop

I was just using my other laptop when it shut off without warning and will not turn back on.When I say " shut off" I mean I was using it and suddenly the screen went dark and then nothing.It had recently warned me I need a new battery, but can't I run it off AC power?What else could be wrong if not the battery?
