How much does it cost for a laptop memory upgrade?
ok so i have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and i only have 17.3GB free of 55.8GB, the strange thing is that i don't have loads of programmes or games on the laptop.i use to have world of warcraft but i stopped playing it so i took it off. i have a few photos but thats about it.i would say that the largest things on it would be the anti virus and anti malware software but i those are important and i cannot take them off. so either do you know how i could free up memory or should i just go with the upgrade if its not too expensive.
How to check if laptop memory upgrade was successful?
My laptop had 1 GB memory RAM and I replaced it with 2GB for faster performance. The system properties still shows 1GB as total memory. I definitely feel the positive effect and my laptop seems to be faster after the upgrade. But why is the system properties still show 1GB? Any pointers?? Do I need to reinstall the memory to ensure both slots are working and that both are powering the laptop?? Thanks.p.s. i have windows vista.any pointers

I have a Compaq Presario V2424NR laptop and I need to add memory because my system is extremely slow. I bought this laptop at Best Buy at the beginning of 2006 and I would like to upgrade from the original 512mb to 1gb. I don't buy online, is there a store like Best buy or The Shack that stocks this stuff? Please don't get too technical Thanks.
HP Compaq NC6000 laptop memory upgrade help -cannot find the slot?
I have a HP Compaq NC6000 laptop and i need to install another 256mb memory on it. The problem is that i cannot find the little hatch door on its back that gives access to memory slot. I can only find the mini pci door. The laptop already has 256mb integrated memory.any ideeas please? has someone upgraded memory on nc6000 laptop??thank you

Computer Dell Inspiron 6000According to the manual below, the computer can max out at 2gb of memory. page 94 support.dell.com support edocs systems ins6000 en om D5181bk5.pdf The problem i am getting is after the new memory is installed 1gb and 1gb , the computer boots to a screen that says " The amount of system memory has changed" and nothing else. When i research this error, the consensus is that the main board is bad. I know this is not true because with the old memory, the computer works fine. What could be the problem here? Is the memory bad? Some procedure that i am missing?Thanks in advance.THere is no option of any kind to proceed past this screen. It only boots to this screen with the new memory...when i add the old memory this same screen appears but i have the option to hit enter and continue.
Laptop memory upgrade - confused?
I have a laptop with removable 256mb and want to upgrade to 512mb. What do I buy exactly? Is it another 256mb to add to what I have or take the removable one out of my laptop and buy 512mb. I haven't a clue how this all works sorry to be such a dumb dumb. Thanks.
Laptop Memory upgrade that exceeds specifications?
I have a Compaq Armada M700 laptop with memory maxed out to the 576 Megabytes it will officially take. This is a PIII 1 gigahertz cpu. I am having 2 problems with it. The processes using too much cpu was solved by something call " Process Lasso" which I found out about via ComputerShopper. The 2nd problem is with a fair number of " page faults" when some of my busier programs get busy. This can be reduced and the system speed up by adding memory.By specification I already have the largest memory chips for the 2 available slots 256MB PC100 Sodimm 144 pin . I have learned the memory is not recognized if it is not PC100.At least one of the after market memory merchants is selling a 512MB chip with the right specifications memorysuppliers.com 144pinpcsod1.htmlThe price is not trivial and neither is the effort to get at the memory chips on this laptop.So what is the question? Will a PIII laptop motherboard recognize this much memory? eg. is this technically feasible. Laptop memory upgrade problems - please help?
I purchased a Toshiba Satellite A135 2286 laptop about 4 months ago. It is running Windows Vista and only has 512 MB of RAM. I purchased an additional 512 MB stick of RAM from Crucial.com and installed it today. I expected to boot the system and have 1GB total, however it only recognizes 512MB.I removed the factory installed memory module and installed only the module that I purchased from crucial.com, and it booted fine, so I know the module is good. The system just won't recognize that I have 1GB when I install them both.Should I send this memory back to crucial.com and order a " name brand" ? I've got a tight budget, but I found a Corsair 1GB module at tigerdirect for $39.99 tigerdirect.com applications SearchTools item details.asp?EdpNo 2227106& CatId 150Do you think this will be compatible with my factory installed memory, or even with the system?Any advice is appreciated. I am on a real tight budget and my Toshiba laptop still an XP, Service Pack 2, 256 MB RAM ..I know that the memory is real low and I wanted to know how I can go about upgrading it or adding memory and stuff..I need a cheap and easy way 4 someone to look at it w o charging like $60 and then go about making this thing faster..I cant really afford a new pc right now and so upgrading this thing is the best I can do..Can anyone give me any suggestions?
Laptop memory upgrade?
Ive got an older HP pavilion laptop ze4430us . I am wanting to upgrade the memory but have a question first. It currently has 512MB using 2 256MB sticks. I want to upgrade to the max of 1 gig. Do I have to use 2 512MB sticks or can I just use a single 1 gig? Thanks
