How much does it cost for a laptop memory upgrade?
ok so i have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and i only have 17.3GB free of 55.8GB, the strange thing is that i don't have loads of programmes or games on the laptop.i use to have world of warcraft but i stopped playing it so i took it off. i have a few photos but thats about it.i would say that the largest things on it would be the anti virus and anti malware software but i those are important and i cannot take them off. so either do you know how i could free up memory or should i just go with the upgrade if its not too expensive.
Why does my laptop memory fragment at a shocking rate?
Okay here's the details. I use a Dell Inspiron 6000 and it is running Windows XP. I use Auslogics Disk Defrag, and I have to run it AT LEAST once a week. When I run it I often find that there are around 400 fragmented files, and if I analyze within an hour of defragmenting down to only 3 files, I find that it has climbed back up to around 30 or 40 files. I have noticed that many other people report this same issue, but have yet to find one explanation of why this happens. Can anyone tell me why my computer fragments at this rate?
Would someone still want to buy 2x1gb DDR laptop memory?

Does laptop memory speed significantly affect GPU performance in laptops with shared memory?
I'm looking at upgrading the memory in my HP G60 247CL laptop. It currently has the stock 3 GB of PC2 5300 667mhz with 2 GB on one stick and 1 GB on the other. Since I have Windows 7 64 bit, I want to max out the memory at 4 GB. The main performance improvement I want is watching flash and silverlight videos online. My video chip is the horrible 8200 M G, and with it hulu is not watchable on full screen. Other flash videos suffer horribly at resolutions higher than 640x480. My main question is if the memory upgrade will significantly improve my video performance. In the nvidia control panel it shows my video chip's memory clock at 800 mhz, but the shared memory it is using clearly can't run that fast. I'm thinking that upgrading my memory to match this might help.Should I a buy just one 2 GB stick of PC2 5300, b buy one 2 GB stick of PC2 6400 800 mhz, c upgrade all memory to PC2 6400, or d don't waste my money upgrading? Sparta Thanks but I know for a fact that Windows 7 64 supports much more that 3 GB. Yours is probably 32 bit. You should download the ultimate windows tweaker and enable more.Edit I have found a solution to my problem with flash video on the 8200 M G. When watching a video or animation on flash player 10, you can right click it and go to settings. In the first tab, uncheck " Enable hardware acceleration." Next, go to the third tab and drag the slider to 10 MB. Hulu works fine on low resolution now. High res is a little choppy but tolerable. I'm still thinking about doing the ram upgrade since I'm always encoding h.264 mp4's with handbrake, and any extra speed helps. Thanks to all for the input.

How do I remove a memory card that has been wedged into my laptop memory card slot?
I have a Toshiba satellite computer, and about an hour ago, the memory card from my digicam got stuck inside the memory card slot of the computer. Obviously, I have realized that the memory card is too small. Tweezers are too big to get in, and I have tried using a hairpin. The card is at the super back, like half an inch in. Btw, the slot is more like a slit. I'm desperate, what do I do????
Can I install ITunes to a portable flash-drive and store all music on it and not on my laptop memory?
ok so i have a lot of music and it takes up a major part of my laptop .So I installed my Itunes to a flash drive but how can i get it to just be on the flash drive i.e the music libraries and not on my laptop? it seems that its installed on both as i deleted itunes and reinstalled it on the flash drive, so i drag and drop the music on the flash drive to my Itunes but it stores on my laptop instead of the flash drive??? thank you 10 points for whoever solves my lack of Itunes knowledge

Is it worth it to upgrade the laptop memory?
I'm debating between two laptops that I want to buy. The only major difference is the memory...one has 2 GB, the other has 3 GB for 9 dollars more. Is it worth it for that extra gig? I have 3 flash drives Two have 2 GB, the other has 16. Just seeking outside opinions. I'm tired of debating in my head. Best answer will be decided on most useful information provided.

Laptop Memory Upgrade?
I recently bought two sticks 512MB each for a total of 1024MB for my laptop, and although it does recognize it, my laptop does however randomly restart, getting the blue screen of death for half a second, then it restarts. I don't know what the problem is? My laptop can only take 1 GIG of RAM, and that's what I have, so I'm a little confused. So far now, I'm using the two original memory sticks 256MB each . HELP

ok i have two 1gb rams both ddr2 but the make is different, one is kingston and the other is crucial. i have two ram slots on my laptop and im wondering if both rams will work at the same time if i put it on on each slot? or will it not work because both make are different. i want to make it 2gb.......hope u understand what im tryin to say
