Would Linux Mint 12 work on Acer and Lenovo laptop notebook computers?
I may get a notebook computer soon. Probably an Acer Aspire. Or a Lenovo Ideapad or Thinkpad. I want to install Linux Mint 12 on it.Will it work alright on either notebook? The video is Integrated Intel HD. Will the Linux Mint system be able to install drivers, if needed, for it? And for the sound, wireless, internet, and other devices?I forgot that I can test it out from the install disc, which I already have set up. I can do that. Also, as for messing up the OS the laptop comes with, I have a separate hard drive for Linux Mint. The laptop will likely come with a 5,200 RPM hard drive. I have a 7,200 RPM hard drive I can use for Linux Mint.

Laptop/notebook computer owners: Why should I get one instead of a desktop?
I saw one online that I'm interested in, but have questions. Do they come with an ac adapter? Can I hook up my printer to it easily? Can I use my current cordless optical mouse with it? How long does a 6 cell, 8 cell, and 12 cell batter last? Any help is appreciated before I make my final decision.

I have a Latitude D520 computer. Recently my battery has been dying you know, not running out of juice, but getting old and i need to replace it. I'm wanting to purchase a laptop computer, and to be honest I'm completely lost on the subject. I'm looking for something cheap but not subpar. I'm about to buy a new laptop. Since I live abroad but am from the UK and will be returning to the UK for a short time before Christmas, I'll be buying a laptop from a UK based site who can deliver the machine to my UK address. My question is this other than Dell computers, can you recommend a good, reliable and safe site to use for buying a laptop in the UK? I'm looking to buy a basic laptop or notebook computer. No gaming, no movies or anything fancy ... just for multitasking school work, research, web surfing .I don't need Windows Vista, and I don't need a lot of memory. How do i remove and clean or replace a hp laptop notebook computer, repair help?
do i open it, and take it out, or does the keyboard pop out somehow? i never opened a laptop, my h,g and backspace go out, and i get it going again by tapping on the side, or by pushing the keyboard to the right, just think it plug needs cleaned, or keyboard replaced? thankshow does the keyboard come out? thanks
