I'm having laptop overheating issues.?
i am a heavy gamer and have high end games. i.e. mass effect 1 and 2, dead space 2, section 8 prejudice, burnout Paradise and they overheat on my laptop. i have a gateway M 6888U laptop with 4 gigs ram, 2.0 ghz processor duo core, ATI radeon hd 2600 graphics card with 512 hyper memory, and 285 gig hard drive. i've used about 65 % when i first got the computer it ran games fine, then i got higher demanding games and it overheated.so i got a belkin F5L001 external cooling pad. that let me game pretty hard for about a year now and overheating was rare. lately however the computer overheats almost regularly with the high end games.i have already opened it up and cleared dust off the fan of both the computer and belkin. but games i used to play a solid four hours on, i can get maybe 1 1 2 hours now.have i seriously damaged my laptop or is it the fans?what can i do to fix the overheating or increase play time?

i have a gateway nv5207u with a amd athlon 64 x2 ql65 dual core processor, 4gb of ddr2 ram, with an ati radeon hd 3200 graphics. when idle it runs a steady 140 degrees 60c and when under load it'll peak around 190 197 now to me that's pretty damn hot. when regular browsing it'll stay around 155 170. is this normal for this type of cpu??? oh and its only a few months old

Laptop Overheating Issue (HP DV 9000)?
I have an HP DV9000. It is prone to may issues. My warranty expired so I can't send it back to get fixed again. I've done some reading on how people have addressed their issues with their DV9000's. I don't want to get a cooling pad, that is not going to be enough. What are some options to prevent overheating? Is there something I could reconfigure or add to help with the heat problem?I could replace the fan and battery, but how much is that going to actually help? And would it last?I was also thinking of connecting it to an external monitor and using it as a desktop. Without the screen running would it significantly reduce the heat generated? I know a lot of you are just going to say, " Buy a new one." I have an m11x and a Sony Vaio too, I want to exhaust my use of my HP before I scrap it. Thanks in advance.Lets think outside the box now. For the most part I'm hearing common knowledge. The heat the laptop produces is ridiculous. A cooling pad is not going to help. I cleaned it out also which did not help.I've gone through 2 batteries, had the motherboard 2 , charging chip, and wireless card replaced in 3 years. It seems to keep frying up everything.Possibly better off selling it on eBay for parts or repair? I'm starting to think it's a lost cause.

Laptop overheating issues??? (Help)?
I have a VPCF1 that has overheating problems. It was recalled over 1 and half years ago. I just found about it and now they want me to pay 200 dollars to repair it. Can someone first tell me the type brand of fan for the CPU use in the VPCF1 and how to replace it on my own. Also can you tell me if there any other ways to stop the overheating problems.Note I already updated the BIOS and I keep the computer on Power Saver to reduce fan noise.Laptop VAIO VPCF1 i7 740QM 1.73GHz Turbo boost up to 2.23GHz Clarksfield 45nm Technology 6.00 GB Dual Channel DDR3 664MHz MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 Nvidia Defaul on NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M

Laptop overheating issues?
I have a Compaq Presario C700 laptop and for the first time its shut down unexpectedly in the middle of a low end low graphics game. My laptops capabilities are well beyond the reccomended requirements of the game I think it may be the air temp about 90 degrees in SoCal right now but I really dont know. Its on a flat hard surface wooden desk and its running in high performance mode. Several spots on the laptop are warm but the vents are pretty clear of dust. I think I'm doing most things right so it worries me that it still shuts down unexpectedly. Please answer, for techies computer specs below Intel Pentium Dual CPU 1.86 Ghz120 GB Hard Drive2GB RAMThank You All except you jerks who blame me without a providing a solution, I know how you are on Yahoo lol

Laptop overheating (?) issue?
My G4 Titanium laptop, which was 3 years old when I got it, sounds like it's having a hard time " breathing." The fan starts running and making an awful noise if I have too many programs open we're talking Safari, Word, and Apple mail not a lot or if I watch a short video. It sometimes does this when the machine is running at 27 degrees C, and sometimes is silent at 45 ouch C. My thought is there's dust buildup in the machine, but my Mac guru refuses to believe this is a possibility. He just said I needed a new laptop which I got . But I'd still like to know what's going on with my Ti book. To me, it seems like when a blowdryer shuts off because the lint needs to be cleaned out.Any thoughts? Does anyone ever open up a laptop like this, or is it just asking for trouble? I obviously wouldn't do it myself, but I was wondering if Apple would. It makes a fine backup machine, at least. Thanks Thanks, you're all brilliant. I was so sure it was dust buildup. For those who asked, yes, my laptop sits on a pretty high stand about 8 inches off the desktop specifically designed to allow excellent air circulation.I cannot choose a Best Answer sorry there were too many good ones. I'll leave it to you to decide. And thanks again.

Laptop overheating issues?
I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 that I use for mainly for online schoolwork. I do not use it for downloading, and try not to overload it with programs running. Recently, it has been just shutting down when I'm right in the middle of something with no warning. I think it is overheating, because it is very warm hot to the touch. I keep the antivirus software current, and it is Norton brand. I also keep up on all Microsoft updates and download them promptly. The internet for it is wireless via a D Link AirPlus Xtreme G card with a secure Linksys cable router. I do use it for hours on end during the day for school, but I do shut it down at night and its off for at least 10 hours. I keep it up on a flat surface always have a rolling laptop cart so I am wondering how it is suddenly overheating. I have never had any other problems with it the entire time I have had it since it was new. Is there anything I can do, such as getting a better fan or is there a cooling laptop stand I can buy? If I do need a new fan it is not dirty and is running correctly and quietly , what is the best fan I can get that will keep it cool? The fan is not dusty. It runs fine. I have had enough desktops to know when a fan is dusty. I want to know if there is a fan I can buy that will cool it better than the one in here, as I have heard Dells can have overheating issues.

Laptop OverHeating Issue! Please Help! 10 points for solution!?
I've got a HP dv5 1003. It's been almost a month and a half that I've got it, and when I first got it and until last week when i closed the lid the computer used to go to sleep mode and didn't heat the laptop even had the HP logo in the front of the lid with lights that it used to turn off. Now, after a month and a half using the laptop when I close the lid, it seems as if just the screen is turned off, cause the programs are still running and when I use it again it is really hot, and the light in the front never turns off.I've been looking all over the web for a possible solution, but I have found none. I've looked in the power management and it says " when closing the lid the computer goes to sleep mode" , and that is all I have found.I would like to know if someone had the same problem and how it was solved or if someone has a possible solution.
