Laptop overheating. Solutions?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ60, and it overheats. The bottom left side where the vent is gets extremely hot while doing simple tasks on the laptop. I am looking for some solutions to fix this.
Laptop overheat solutions for gaming?
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ANSWERING.First of all, I am planning on getting a laptop cooler, and possibly a better fan, but I can't afford them yet, so I need a more immediate solution. I have also already tried cleaning the inside of the computer, which didn't hep much.I have an HP 6735b laptop with Windows Vista, and it is designed to automatically shut off to prevent overheating. I have 3 different power modes which I can use, and I am able to set the percentage of CPU usage, helping me to balance between performance and potential overheat.I play a lot of computer games, most of them fairly high end for my computer's abilities, so I generally keep the CPU set at 75 %, which is the highest I can run it without immediately overheating, but my computer still tends to overheat and shut down after an hour or so of playing graphic heavy games, especially online games. What I am asking is if there is a way to set my computer to automatically reduce CPU usage when it reaches high temperatures, to avoid shutting down. It's difficult to run games at a lower setting, but I will gladly trade performance for the computer shutting off without warning. At the very least, I can just quit my game when I notice the performance going bad, rather than losing my progress. If there is not a setting for this, is there a program I can download for this? Also, if there is some sort of hardware or software that may help with overheating issues in some way, or any alternative solutions I haven't mentioned, please let me know of that as well.I play all of my games on the lowest graphic settings, so tweaking that is no longer an option. I don't actually play any high end games, but anything with 3D graphics is relatively high end for my computer.
Laptop Overheats. Solutions?
Using a can of compressed air aside wha can I do to keep my laptop from overheating? I have a Compaq Presario V5000. I've tried to take the bottom off to clean out the fan but I'm having issues geting the darn thing of and I don't have a manule to show me how to go about doing it. My computer only overheats when I'm playing games, Guild Wars, WoW, and such, and only lets me play for only about 10 minuets or so, which is obviously not ideal for me when I'm in epic quest mood. It's not still under warranty. Basically, I'm trying to find a quick at home fix solution that doesn't involve spending any money, so I don't really have any to spend.
