My laptop overheats and shuts off constantly?
makes it really hard to do coursework for school.. it gets hot really easily especially the mouse pad and often whirs.. if i'm lucky it'll stay on for an hour then it'll shut off, and when it comes back on again it'll turn off within half an hour.i've tried blowing on the fan openings to unclog the heatsink as recommended by another site but it turned off almost instantly after that. is it easy to remove the heatsink and clean it? would it be fast and cheap for a pro to do it?my laptop it constantly on a flat surface and i even lift it up to let it cool.. turning it off isn't an option with homework and i can't keep it on long enough to do a virus scanthankss aghhh forgot the make and model sorry it's an acer aspire 5735Z, not too old.i've taken the charger out and it's stopped making noise & hasn't died yet fingers crossed Lthe charger's been repaired recently but i don't think that's the problemrunning a virus scan now

With maplestory running it will go to atleast 100 and the performance of the computer will go so slowly and bad. Not sure if the fan is working or not. My Sony Vaio laptop overheats and shuts off, help?
I own a sony vaio laptop about 3 years old . It keeps overheating and shutting down, and when I try to turn it back on sometimes I get a flashing cursor. So i have to keep a fan on it at all times but if I try to watch a video or something it will shut down anyway. It runs pretty loud too. At one point when i would turn my computer on it would have a bunch of vertical lines and only allow me to turn the computer on with " networking" . I took it to a guy who said it had a virus but he cleaned it. it doesnt give me the lines when restarting anymore but still overheats and shuts off. Why is my brand new Dell Inspiron 14R laptop overheating and shutting off?
I bought a Dell Inspiron 14R laptop in February of 2011 and eleven months later I find that it's shutting down power shutting completely off at random times due to heat. At first I began to notice the CPU fan was running more often and harder than what I seemed to remember, then it began abruptly shutting off when the CPU was very busy. Once this occurred while I was doing a full system scan while surfing the net. I'm disappointed that it is already failing when to me it's still brand new. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?I should have wrote that my laptop is an Inspiron N4010 there's also a sticker on the front that says " 14R" for some reason but underneath it says the model is " Inspiron N4010" Carrying a fan through the airport would pose a problem. I didn't know Dell laptops were plagued with overheating issues. What a pain.Actually, it shut off while sitting on a hard surface table. However, I have put the laptop on my lap as well as soft cushions before. My Sony Viao Z1RA lasted 8 years before dying. Very often I would use the Sony on top of a pillow and it never overheated. It was an expensive laptop though paid $2500 in 2003 for it . So are Dell laptops more delicate? I mean is it true that all Dell laptops should never be put on your lap or on a pillow?
Laptop Overheating And Shutting Off Help Please!
My hp Pavilion laptop has a fan placed on the underside and whenever I place it on a flat surface such as a table for long periods of time, it overheats and shuts off. Do you have any tips to help me? preferably not involving the purchase of other hardware such as fans.
Laptop overheating and shutting off even on flat surfaces since upgrading to 64-bit.?
Hey guys, I have a weird problem. I boought a new Toshiba laptop about two months ago. I recently upgraded to windows 7 64 bit. But since then, my laptop hasent even been able to keep its self cool while playing youtube videos.I checked speedfan and done a test while playing Crysis. My laptop fan starts running at 190Fand stops at 170FIt takes less than 5 minuntes to rearch 190F.Then it repeats this. But on the 3rd time, the laptop just shut off.Earyler today, I had my laptop sitting on my coffee table watching a youtube video and it overheated. Its only 2 months old actually, less and its on a flat surface with nothing blocking the vents But it still overheats. Now this problem started when I installed 64 bit windows 7. I NEVER over heated like this in 32 bit windows 7.So, whats the problem? Any help on what to do? If I dont use my cooling pad then I cant use my laptop for more than 10 minuntes even on a flat, clean surface with nothing blocking the vents without having it shut down because of heat problems.Any help or advice is appreciated Thanks
Why is my laptop overheating and shutting off?
For no reason, sometimes its not even in use, I hear the computer running hard and next thing I know it shuts off. This happens all the time whether its being used or not. Its only a little over a year old. We even set it on its side when not in use so the fan can run and cool it off, but that doesn't seem to matter.
Laptop overheats and shuts off?
Well I can't even play a video on youtube for over 30 minutes without my laptop overheating and shutting off. It overheats even though I'm just at the desktop and I'm not using it.The fan is working. My question is.. Where can I go to get my laptop opened so the dust clogging the vents can be removed? I tried it on my own, and messed up the main screw causing me unable to open the laptop. Also, how much will it cost for them to clean the laptop, or atleast removed the damaged screw? Thanks.I alread a used a Vacuum and Compressed Air in a Can. I'm also using a cooler cheap which doesn't help much.
