My Dell studio 15 laptop overheats?
Ive had this laptop for around 2 years, and ive been playing my games on it i.e Starwars empire at war,Minecraft,From dust,and terraria and back then it was doing fine i could play for 4hrs straight, and not get problems but over the last month it keeps overeheating, and randomly shuting down, when i turn it back on and run a program called speed fan it said the the temp can be really high on the processer so i was wanting to know whats changed and how can i fix it.Thanks

I just bought a new non-HP battery for my laptop and now the laptop overheats when it is left on. help?
I have an HP computer, sorry I don't know the model number, etc. The computer is 2 1 2 years old and I use it every day. Usually I just leave it on, but with the lid closed. A couple weeks ago, I got a message saying that the battery was dying, so I purchased a new battery, not from HP but the correct serial part number from a store on Amazon.com. Now when I leave the computer turned on, lid closed and not on the cooling pad it overheats and shuts off. I have not tried leaving it on and plugged into the cooling pad.I have not tried cleaning the fan yet. I am not very tech savvy just enough to be dangerous and mess up the computer I need ideas on what to do. Is the new battery the problem? Should I purchase an HP battery? Any and all help is appreciated.

My laptop overheats; What heat sink should I buy to replace it / Where should I look?
My laptop can easily hit 100C internally. I'm not exactly computer savvy, but I'm aware that this is awful for my computer and I'm looking to replace my current heat sink. Are there heat sinks that are better quality than others? Will I simply have to buy one from the maker of the computer? Any details regarding the replacement process are much appreciated.Also, I'm buying a laptop cooler in addition to a new heat sink to assure this doesn't happen anymore just in case you were going to suggest that .My laptop specs HP dv7t series laptopi5 560m 2.67ghzRadeon Mobility HD 5470

Acer laptop overheats and shuts down what can I do?
I have an Acer Aspire 5732Z laptop and very often when 2 3 programs are running in the same e.g. i watch a movie with bs player and torrent is running and after 40' it shuts down I tried to do a full recovery but it didn't change anything and I wish I could avoid format.Any suggestions?I was thinking of getting a cooler but is it going to be better?How much did it cost you?

ASUS Laptop Overheating Problems?
I have an ASUS G73Jh laptop, and the fans have been running constantly whilst the laptop is powered on for the past few months. Or at least that's as long as I have noticed.Just now while trying to load the game " The Sims 3" the screen went black and my laptop powered off by itself. Feeling the top of the keyboard after, it was extremely hot, so I take it the laptop overheated.My laptop also froze randomly last night, if that has any correlation. This is only the second time it has ever frozen on me, however.I have had the laptop for about 2 years now and haven't had any major problems until recently.Would having a too full C drive cause problems? It is 76 % full.

Dell laptop overheating problem?
im currently using a dell inspiron and on high CPU loads my laptop overheats and forces a shutdown, im wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if they know a work around.i intend to contact dell to clean the fans as i dont want to void the warrenty so i cant open the laptop but if anyone has any other suggestions thanks x

ive got a gateway laptop and it will shut off after like 5 minutes of use. whats the deal?? is it overheating? or is the problem deeper inside?Thanks for the replies, and like literally 5 minutes after it boots up it will shut off, even when i let it sit. And yes The air coming from the back left feels hot. and its just sitting on a solid wood table

Laptop overheating, how do you remove the dust that is internal inside the laptop?
i have removed the top layer of dust from the fan that you can see with your eyes but i can not remove the dust inside my laptop because i am too scared to open up my laptop, i have also heard that using a can of compressed air to blow through the laptop is bad for it, any other suggestgions on how to remove the dust without opening it?

Asus N61JQ Laptop Overheating?
Hello I have been the proud owner of my Asus N61JQ series laptop for almost 2 years now. Normally I run a lot of software on it at once and I've never had a problem with speed and heat.This past semester, I studied abroad in Spain. I just got back this week. As of about a month and a half ago, my laptop started overheating, and often. If I Skyped for too long, if I rendered a video, if I was working with big programs like Photoshop, sometimes even if I was just browsing the internet, my computer would completely overheat and turn off without warning nor saving what I was working on.I am back in America and this is still happening. My charger that I brought to Spain I used a converter to plug it in doesn't work properly unless it's held at a certain angle, I'm having to use my extra charger that I left at home. My computer still overheats, in the past day it has done it 3 times.What can I do? Is this a battery problem? I know it can't be the charger because I've used the two different ones in the past day and it has turned off with both. What is happening?Thank you so much I've always been able to have my laptop on my bed and on my lap without an issue. The only change is the temporary change in continents hence voltage change . Now it overheats whether it's on my lap, my desk, on anything I don't have any pets, never have, so it wouldn't be a pet hair issue
