What is the best website buy replacement laptop parts from?
I think my computer is an Acer Extensa 5620. the number might be wrong The power button doesn't work, The problem is either the power button board or the ribbon cablethat goes to it. I need a wesite without extremely high prices.

I recently purchased this compaq presario laptop walmart.com catalog product.do?product id 11050018I was amazed at the quality for the price. 3gb ram was a good seller for me. the biggest downfall was the 2.1 ghz processor. since i'm more of a desktop person i am not sure if that can be upgraded and how? also, can i upgrade the hdd?
Reselling Alienware laptop parts?
I've had an Alienware laptop for a little while now and every day, I feel it getting closer and closer to death. Since I paid close to 3000$ for it, I'm getting kinda concerned about my " investment" .Now what I want to know is, when it finally dies, is it technically possible to salvage some still functional parts from it and sell them to make a few dollars and buy a new, more reliable, laptop? I'm asking because I do believe Alienware makes custom parts that only their laptops use...

Why aren't there better standards for laptop parts?
Things like keyboards and touch pads are so similar it would be nice if they conformed to standards so we could swap them out ourselves. Why hasn't the laptop manufacturer industry done anything about that? I found some information about the Common Building Block standard from 2006, but adoption was really limited and it doesn't look like much has happened lately.

Question about the name of laptop part?
I have a Dell inspiron in which the shell of the screen is vastly breaking due to the tension on the screws don't ask . Anyway, one side of the plastic shell is completely broken off and I would just like to purchase the plastic part that connects with the monitor the part that says Dell , but I don't know the name of this part. Could you all please enlighten me on what this is called so I can get it before the whole scene comes off? Thanks in advance.
