Dell laptop plugged in not charging!? insprion 1545?
ok so i have a dell insprion 1545, ive never had problems with it before really, and the other day i turned my laptop on and noticed this red light flashing with a white light after it, so i turned off laptop, and left charger on for 4hrs and charged it then took charger out and it wouldnt turn on, then i looked at power status it says plugged in not charging i dont know why? and ive tried taking battery out and going device manager and stuff, so i thought oh maybe it needs a new charger, so i borrowed my brothers who has the same laptop and it charged it so maybe its my charger i dunno, but i went to device manager> batteries> uninstalled microsoft ACPI thingy and took battery out then put it back in then re installed it back, but when i had battery out with charger in, my laptop was fine, the red light went off? but i dont think its my battery cause it charges with my brothers charger?Sorry if i confused you im confused myself lol, thanks and please help means alot, xx

Laptop : Plugged in, not charging?
Okay my laptop battery says 51 % available plugged in, not charging I have a Compaq HP running Vista.I have already restarted. Then I turned off my comp and took out the battery and put it back in.Then I found these instructions through some google searching 1.Click Start and type device in the search field, then select Device Manager .2.Expand the Batteries category.3.Under the Batteries category, right click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall .WARNING Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.4.On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes .Alternately, select Action > Scan for hardware changes .Windows will scan your computer for hardware that doesn't have drivers installed, and will install the drivers needed to manage your battery's power. The notebook should now indicate that the battery is charging." I did all that and it still says the same thing.Anyone know anything else to try? before I try running in circles with tech support Thanks Abdu Rahimseems to have worked it's charging again

Laptop plugged in, not charging?
I have an HP Pavilion lap and my OS is Windows 7. I usually keep it plugged in because it dies without warning when it's not. I still check the battery meter frequently and lately it's sometimes been saying " plugged in, not charging" which usually gets fixed by unplugging it and then plugging it back in, but if this solution stops working, what should I do?Is this something that would cost money to fix? I'm going to replace this laptop in a few months, so I don't particularly want to invest more money into this machine.

Laptop plugged in, not charging battery draining! Help!?
My laptop yesterday was working fine, this morning I unplugged it and packed it up as usual to take with me to work, and when I plugged it in, the screen stayed very dimmed. So I messed around with trying to figure out if maybe my powerstrip was bad or the two prong adapter was somehow interfering but no dice.I plugged it into other outlets around the room, took it to a different room, unattached and reattached everything on the AC adapter cord nothing I wiggled the connector to the laptop, twisted it around trying to see if a connection would pop up, nothing. Didn't even blink So I have no idea what this possibly could be. I bought this laptop maybe 3 4 months ago and have had no problems whatsoever. I think I have a warranty on it but I'm not sure since I tend to overlook those things on other hardware. So I might have to pay out of pocket to replace... whatever it is that needs replacing. So what is it?Again, the computer is on power save, the battery is slowly draining despite the fact I have it plugged into a wall right now and there's no physical evidence of something being broken. And wiggling the connector did not work at all either.Laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60 215DX notebookAny suggestions? So while I'm texting my fiance my laptop woes, I glance up at my screen and magically it is charging again Hallelujah But It doesn't mean it could happen again, and I really would like to know what this possibly could be. I'm still going home later to check my warranty and will probably call the company to see what they have to say about it also. But I'd like to hear from people who aren't trying to steal my money I'm not sure what a powercut is. I googled it and I got a company in the UK with John Deere logo's Maybe you're referring to my 2 prong adapter? That's about all I use that didn't come with the computer since the house I rent has only 2 pronged outlets Oh silly me, no sooner did I add that did I look further down the page and found the definition. No, there was no power outage whatsoever in the last 24 hours at my living residence or where I work. I just simply unplugged it from the wall again we have shoddy old electricity there, if we have too many appliances plugged into one part of the house on at once, we've lost power in that section of that house only and then plugged it into the power strip I have at work. I've been doing this since I bought the laptop so that's why it's such a surprise
