What is that round thing on my laptop power supply cord near the connector that plugs into the laptop?
There is a short near the low voltage connector plug so I will need to cut off the old connector and solder on a new one. The job would be much easier if I could just cut the cord behind that round, barrel shaped thing. But is that item a necessary part of the power supply? Does it affect the low voltage A C like a magnet or a capacitor? Or is it just a spacer to protect the connector itself from damage?
My laptop power supply cord blew up?
I unplugged my power supply from my laptop and it created a huge spark...now a part of my power cord is fried. The cord consists of 2 components....the power supply and the cord....the power supply is fine but the cord is what is fried.....is it possible just to get a new cord at a store or will I have to buy both?Laptop is Toshiba A215 s4747Yes Travis....it's a " female" cord if that's what you call itThe cause of the spark was because there was a tear in the cord from bending strain...so I could see some of the internal copper wires
What is the laptop power supply cord called?
stupid question, but my cord on my laptop power supply burnt out...its not the cord that connects to the computer, but the one that connects to the outlet. the one that actually detaches from the power supply.what would i call this cord? cant find it on ebay or anywhere an my power is running out yeah i search for a power cord, but the cord that connects to the laptop keeps popping up
Buying a new laptop power supply/cord?
Hi guys I need to buy a new power cord for my HP ze5000s lappy, but I checked at a couple of stores Best Buy, etc. and they're soo expensive like $90 . However, I found some generic cords on E bay for around $25 inc. s& h is this a good option? And just to be on the safe side what are the details I need to check on? Input, output, voltage, all that? Or is it okay to take the seller's word for it that the cord is compatible with my lappy?Also, does anyone know of a good place to buy power supplies at a good price?Thanks ahead of time for the help
