Laptop Power Supply Problem?
I have a Dell Latitude D600. When I plug in the A C power adapter I had for it, I couldn't get it to charge the battery or power the laptop unless I kept wiggling the cord. I bought a new A C power adapter, hoping that I had a bad adapter, but the new one is the same way. I'm at a loss as to why I am having this problem. Any suggestions?

Laptop power supply problem, Need help!?
is there such a thing as an adapter that will fit into the battery compartment of a laptop and provide direct AC power to the computer? the reason i ask, is because the wire inside the female part of the plug on a laptop has broken off and i am not sure how to fix.the part that is broken is ON the laptop and not with the power supply, rather it is the spot where the power supply plugs in at. thank you

Laptop power supply problem? is this normal?
Today i finally recieved the replacement internal dc power socket for the motherboard the old one fell off .. so after having it ready for the last week or so, the replacement arrived, and i got it in place, soldered, pretty good job. Put laptop together, switch on, perfect, no problems. battery charges, everythings great. but i just happened to listen to the power supply up close.. you cant hear it from a distance, but up close and listen carefully, you can hear a slight hum, with an occasional fiz or crackle sound.. not sure what it is.. so my question is.. could this be something to do with the new part i fitted ? or is that normal sounds for a 3 4 year old power supply? if i turn laptop off and pull plug out, listen to powersupply again its still humming, but the slight fizz crackle sound is more intermittent. thanks for any advice in advance Note to first poster..im talkin about the power supply, not the battery in the laptop i know power supplies do tend to hum and stuff sometimes, particularly older ones.. but i just wanted to check it wasnt a result of the work i did.further to comments..its not so much a fizz or crackle.. its a constant hum buzz.. but with an occasional 'something' that i described as a fizz or crackle.. i plugged a new laptop in , listened to that power supply and it sounds almost the same, and thats a fully working new laptop. so i dunno. the laptops charging fine and all seems well, so i dunno wether just to put it down to the power supplies age.last update..firstly.. you have to put the power supply right next to your ear to hear it..secondly.. the noise seems to tie with laptop activity.. eg.. when hard drive sets moving, i can here 'noise' at the power supply.. if i open explorer, the 'noise' stops and then reapears once explorer has opened.. bizarre? or 'normal' activity ? lol

Laptop power supply problems?
I bought a compaq presario 1200 off of one of my friends. He didnt have the power supply, so i bought one off of ebay. When i got the power supply in the mail, it ended up being the wrong one. Can i go to radio shack and pick up an adapter so that it fits into the laptop. The amperage and voltage requirements are different, but will the adapter change that? The amperage and voltage on the correct adapter is 3.6A and 19 Volts output, and the amperage on the adapter i have is 2.7A and 18.5 Volts. Any help is greatly appreciated

Laptop Power Supply Problem?
My laptop's AC Adapter One of those adapters from Best Buy seems to makes a small sound when it gets plugged into a wall socket or the laptop. And because of that, it won't charge my laptop. It'll just keep doing that over and over, and I'm hoping its just something stupid causing it, but I have a feeling its not that simpleThanks for any help After letting the charger sit unplugged for a minute or so, i plugged it back in. No sound. Then i plugged it into the laptop and it still didn't charge, but the noise came back...Looking back on it, when it was charging fine, after an hour or so the laptop would get really hot. Now that the laptop isn't being charged, the laptop is noticeably cooler. Is this just an adapter issue?

Laptop power supply problem?
I had my laptop charging with the power supply plugged in when my laptop randomly shut off and my power supply started beeping. I figured it just needed to cool down but now it just doesn't seem to work. My laptop won't charge anymore and all the power supply does is beep. What's the deal?
