hi, i just got a used Alienware laptop, the m5500, it has a broken screen so i got it for cheap 100 bucks anyway, i can get the screen easily but for now, can i plug it into a monitor? how would i go about doing that?how can i reformat the hard drive since i only got the laptop and charger?one more thing... i got a Toshiba laptop that broke down a month ago... it was my " porn" computer... can i use the ram from it it fits because im worried there can be a virus on them 2x2gb ... i know that its nearly impossible to get one on RAM but i know there is a way.... im not sure what its called but i know there is a virus that sticks, lets say i have it, how would i get it off?im worried that it might still have a virus on it.... i dont want my cc or email going out to hackers... anyway...the ram and hard drive im worded about... can any other part of a computer get a virus besides the two?TY in advance

I want to buy a laptop that I can use to check my email and get on some sites, not like video games. I am also looking for a laptop that has Microsoft on it so I can open up documents and type up reports. Any ideas on what type of computer to get? I would like some help Thank you Oh and something inexpensive

since im getting a notebook laptop, i don't got a wireless router, because my desktop computer connects to the wall with a internet cable. so if i get Linksys Wireless N Notebook Adapter, can i connect wireless with Linksys Wireless N Notebook Adapter directly to the internet without any wireless router.

TV and Laptop questions... Help!?
So I about to buy a Flatscreen 1080p but I want to know if theres much of a differance between 60 hz and 120 hz. The tvs gonna be 37 42 inches.After the tv Im getting a new Laptop and want to know a. if Toshiba is a good brand b. should i spring for a blu ray player c. if the blu ray can play cds and dvds as well. and also what kind of memory should i get. Thanks alot.The main thing I want to know is if I should spring for the 120 hz on the tv and blu ray on the laptop. Is it worth extra $$$Well I will gte a blu ray for my tv but I looking mostly for my tv to be for Movies and Xbox. So 60 hz should be fine?

i spilled nail polish on like 5 keys on the side of my laptop and now my whole keyboard doesnt work. then i gave it to my friend cuz he said his uncle knows alot about computers. he said im gonnna need a new keyboard and i gave him 90$ cuz thats how much he needed. now he said that the keyboard is supposed to be delivered today cuz he ordered it last wednesday. now hes telling me that the company told him the keyboard is out of stock. and now i have to wait another week. and i really dont want to.what should i do??i dont want a USB keyboard, i want the laptops keyboard to get fixed or replaced.

Ok so i have always used a desktop computer and im not very good with computers but i no longer have my desktop my service was with at& t,i got a toshiba nb205 as a gift and i have no idea how to hookup service? what do i do??? does it have to be plugged in all the time like a desktop? and howmuch does service through at& t cost a month Thanks so much

Okay im 14 and dont know too too much about computers, but I know more than alot of people.Anyways. I just bought a small LG Notebook laptop.It has a 10" screen, black and white. With 1gb Ram and 160gb Hard Drive. It is only small but runs on windows xp which I like.My question is..With 1GB Ram & 160GB HardDrive, can I download Ares and download songs videos off that? I know that a song is like 6,000KB or something on there and I downloaded a movie for my ipod and it was like 717,000.000KB PI wouldnt download many songs, maybe none I used youtube But for movies and stuff. I know like KB is kinda small but they add up right?And will it slow down my laptop?I dont have anything else installed really, only what it came with, msn, webcam, internet, and other programs.Ares, will it take up alot? Slow down my laptop?And will the movies take up alot?

i have an inspiron 1521 and my ac adapter works fine but when i unplug the ac adapter and when it says the battery is at 100 % it freaks out when i unplug it, it blinks and the screen light gets dim and it acts as if it'll shut down? does this mean my ac adapter isnt recognizing the battery because it works fine when its charging but the instance i unplug it it acts up.

Laptop question... Help Fast Please!?
I am on Vista Home Premium and I get a blue screen saying physical memory dump. This is in Safe Mode. What can I do to get rid of the blue screen? I am on Safe Mode b c start Windows does not start. It just constantly shows the bar going across the bottom. I can't do system restore b c I am afraid the blue screen my cause it to stop in the middle of the process and cause further damage.I meant to say start Windows normally doesn't work. Safe Mode is okay except for the blue screens.
