Toshiba laptop reliability?
just out of curiosity. toshiba recently recalled 41000 satellite laptops. mine wasnt included but should i be worried now. toshiba used to be really reliable is it still. was this a slight mistake that will be corrected. i always assumed toshiba made reliable computers and cared about there products.

Hello. I am considering to buy a 15 inch Toshiba laptop with core i7. I think the model name of it is Toshiba satellite p750 series. I will be using this as my main computer, and i will use it for facebook, youtube, gmail, blogs, word, powerpoint, occasional photoshop, occasional hd movie editing. I want to know if this laptop will suit me. Will this laptop overheat randomly shut off break down? HP laptop reliability?
How reliable are HP laptops? I was under the impression that laptops are all basically the same since they're all made by Clevo, but my dad's friends are telling me that I shouldn't buy HP since they're really unreliable. The HP laptop I'm getting is cheap and only has i3 and integrated graphics. Is HP any less reliable than other companies?

Acer laptop reliability?
If anyone has owned or had experience with an Acer laptop, I'm just wondering how reliable they are? I found an Acer laptop with incredible specs for a great price, but I have heard that Acer reliability is horrible mainly hardware problems. i have heard lots of horror stories and it makes me worry about my toshiba laptop. whats the chance it will fail on me. keep in mind it was a 600$ canadian budget laptop.Brit you do realize dell was rated one of the least reliable brands right. thats why i found a dell with a 512mb video card for $399.99 my computer was 200 more $ and its got integrated ati graphics.

Squaretrade laptop reliability true or not?
Squaretrade put this up squaretrade.com htm pdf SquareTrade laptop reliability 1109.pdf to discuss about laptop reliabilities. they also included the reliability of netbooks, which concerns me. Since on average netbooks are considered to break down faster than laptops, are they also included in the graph on the reliability of brands? Because if they are, then HP got screwed since they make most of the netbooks on the market. So do these statistics also count towards just laptops or both laptops and netbooks. Because inclusion of both netbooks and laptops could put the companies that sell the most amount of netbooks to have the most amount of malfunctions.

Macbook vs. PC Laptop, Reliability?
So I'm strongly considering buying a Macbook for college. I really want something that is dependable, and works like it's suppose to with no problems. So I was wondering peoples thoughts between the two. Some specific questions I have Do Macbooks crash more than PCs? If I would need to get either fixed which one would probably be cheaper to do so?Anything else you may recommend or warn me about would be greatly appreciated. I'm not necessarily concerned with the initial cost of the laptops, but rather the reliability and maintenance between the two.

Laptop reliability!?
I'm really interested in getting a laptop. I'm leaning toward the Dell Inspiron 1520 but my parents are really hesitant. They don't want me to get one because my mom's laptop has been experiencing a lot of difficulty. She has an IBM think pad that her company provides for her so they pay the bill which was quite large. Can anyone tell me if the Dell's are reliable or am I better of with something else ? helpp

I am planning to buy the Acer laptop model 5740 with quite powerful specs such as 4 GB RAM, intel i5 processor, 500 GB hard disk, Radeon 500MB dedicated graphics card, wireless n, etcDoes anyone know this laptop or other Acer laptops for reliability, monitor quality, battery lasting time, quiteness of cooling fan, firmness of keyboard which is hopefully not spongy etc and are they worth buying?

Laptop reliability question-Dell XPS 1730 vs Sager 8662?
I'm already getting a Dell XPS 1730, which comes with a 9800m GT in SLI. I'm thinking about selling it for enough to buy a Sager 8662 because it is lighter, more portable, and I'd assume does not run as hot. However, as performance laptops, will I need to worry about heat ruining internal parts? Does anyone know how well performance Dell and or Sager notebooks typically hold up after a year or two?The dell was about 1200, not incredibly expensive as some people might think. I don't want to haul my gaming desktop off to college with me. The Sager will run me about 1700 if I sell the Dell. I'm going to have one of them, so I'm trying to decide which will last longer and be more reliable.
