Why does my laptop screen goes black randomly after startup?
Sometimes when I restart the laptop, I can hear the computer starting, but the screen will go black and not load. I can hear the fan and see that there is power to it. I have to hold down the power button and restart it again. Sometimes holding down the power button to turn it offf doesn't work so I have to repeat it to get it to load.

This has happened three times, all and only when playing 3D games. I cannot see anything through it, but once I manually restart it its fine. I've had my computer for 2 years now, its a Gateway FX. This problem just started.

My toshiba laptop was bought just a year ago and when im browsing or watching a movie or listening to music, the screen will randomly go black and the only way to do anything is to hold down the power button and restart, i reformatted everything and cleaned it up thinking it was a virus but its not...any help?

Why does my laptop screen go black randomly?
it happens at random times while i use my laptop, always at ditterant time intervals. its a fairly new toshiba satellite and i have updated spy ware and virus protection so i dont know whats happening please helpits done it before while i had music playing and the music stuttered and then quit with the screenthe back light is still on thoughand the fan and everything else cuts out too, basically everything but the back light and the power light go out

It happened just a minute or two ago, and it's happened before.I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with Intel Dual Core Pentium Processor, and it's a Windows 7.It's happened when I go on Youtube. I go from one video to the next, and then it goes blank but it's still on.
