Acer laptop screen goes black?
hey guys i had the same question before, my screen on my laptop goes black when turned on after showing the white acer startup page.. i plugged it in to my computer screen and it came up with a blue page and a message saying " hardware malfunction nmi channel check iochk the system has haulted" , i then turned the laptop off again and restarted it it then took me to the bios where i could go into last know good source, but i went to move the arrow up and it wouldnt do anything but beep at me every time i pressed it, i then turned it off again and restarted it again, it now is giving the black screen again ,any ideas?? cheers..

Sometimes, after a while, my laptop screen goes black, but does not turn off?
Basically other day I was on my laptop for a good few hours, and it doesn't get that hot, just warm, and all of a sudden my screen went black, but laptop was on, then i closed the lid, opened it again, and after 5 minutes it happened again did it about 5 times Then i left it overnight, now its working fine. I thought it could be the laptop overheating, but it does not get that hot. If that is the case, is there any fan control program besides 'notebook hardware control' and 'speedfan' as they dont work on my laptop THANKS IN ADVANCE

My laptop screen goes black at random times. ?
I have an HP Pavilion laptop. While using the laptop, it randomly goes black. The laptop is still on and if you look close enough, you can actually see the screen. It looks like the brightness goes down all the way. Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried putting the brightness up but still doesn't work.. Sometimes it comes back on sometimes it doesn't. It's still black when I restart it.

My laptop screen goes black when I plug it in?
Ok I got this laptop just about a month ago, its brand new basically. I've been taking good care of it.When I plug in the charger, the screen turns black for a couple seconds and then goes back to normal.It annoys me... I have a one year warranty and I don't know why it always does this.Will this problem get worse? Should I complain?Thanks for the help It just recently started doing this a few days ago. My laptop screen goes black when i have the HDMI cable plugged in for about 20 minutes?
I have an HDMI cable connecting my TV to my laptop so i watch videos. Everything works great except the fact that every 20 minutes my TV screen goes black, but i still have audio. So i have to get up from bed to move the mouse and reload the website you tube This is really annoying and i don't know why its happening. I have the screensaver set to 500 minutes and i never close my laptop. How do i fix this? Is there any way to fix it?

Toshiba laptop screen goes black/freezes?
I have a toshiba laptop that has suddenly started acting up. It won't stay powered on even in safe mode. I have been trying to move the files on it to an external drive but it won't stay on long enough for me to do so. It keeps either freezing, or the screen goes black and it loses power and or reboots. I went ahead and loaded up a Windows 7 install disc and it wouldn't stay on long enough for me to reformat the drive, so I am beginning to believe the hard drive is not the issue. It seems to be holding a charge just fine it's plugged into the wall and the lights are on showing it's charging. Any ideas?

Sometimes my laptop screen goes black when playing video files?
Maybe for the past 2 weeks or so, my laptop screen goes black whenever I start playing a video I think mp4s with Windows Media Player. The file opens, the video seems like it's about to play, but then the screen goes black. No audio is played as if everything is frozen, but the laptop itself seems to be running still. However, I can't do anything to get out of the screen and have to reboot manually.What can be the cause of this?

My laptop screen goes black when i move it?
whenever i move my laptop's screen forward or backwards it would turn black, so i have to close it and wait a few seconds. then i open it and it works fine again. but if i touch the screen again, it would go black again. why??????

Why does my laptop screen go black?
This started happening last night. I turn on the computer and all the sudden, the screen goes black. The green panel lights are still on when this happens. So its like it is still on, but the screen is black. I trying to install windows updates last night when the installation seemed to lock up, so i had to hold the power button down to restart it. After it restarted, i tried to install the windows updates again. That is when the screen went black. I held the power button down again to restart and after about 15 mins, the screen went black again. I turned it on this morning, and the screen went black within 1 minute. How can i fix this? I have a Dell XPS M140 with windows XP.

Laptop screen goes black in the middle of game, sometimes randomly flickers?
Back in July I bought an " entertainment" type laptop, I guess that means it's supposed to have alot of memory? Anyway, I put a Sim City year 2000 version game on it, and it ran pretty well, but ocasionally the screen would flicker between going black and normal. Then I ran a program to see if I could put Sims 3 on it, and the program said I had more than enough space for it. So I tried to uninstall the program that ran the memory test and Sim City, as well as this thing that came pre installed called HP games, and a few other things. Anyway, I didn't know how to uninstall any of this without messing up my laptop, so it's all still on there, and now the screen will randomly black out and the only way to get it back is to do the emergency shutoff. What's up with this? Also, if I unplug the computer or plug it in, the screen flickers then too

my computer screen randomly wouldnt turn on on monday after reopening it. i was using it half hour before my class where it worked fine, but after reopening my laptop in class the screen was black I came back home and hooked my laptop to my roomates tv, the screen then worked on both the laptop and the tv screen.We unhooked the laptop from the tv, the screen flashed on and off for a second and then it was working perfectly fine again. until today my laptop was back to normal, but again when I opened my laptop at my school, the screen went black againall the buttons are working and it is making noise when rebooted.any suggestions?
