Laptop cooler vs. laptop stand?

Question: Laptop cooler vs. laptop stand?

(Posted by: Over It on 2007-06-27 12:21:29)

My computer (toshiba satelite), has power issues as well as heat issues. it has to be pluged in one certain way for the computer to read that it is being charged... it also gets hot easily... should i buy a mesh stand that you can get at walmart, to boost it up even higher and alow for a better flow? or should i buy a laptop cooler with the fans in it ( im kind of afraid it might drain the power).... whacha think?

I use a stand for my Mac, and it keeps it very cool. You could just get the stand (they're cheap) and try it out before deciding if you need a fan.

The Power issue is usually either the connector on the charger of a loose connector on the motherboard. If you use a fan that also uses the laptops power it is self defeating since it requires additional current from the laptop which adds to the load on the computer. To understand more about laptop cooling and air flow and things to do about it see the lapkitt or wiki links below :-) gl
